    1. @josie faubert Interesting response.

You suggested the protest was not peaceful and now you are talking about the legality aspect. That is not really the same thing at all, that is a no brainer.

I would ask again for some proof of overall violence perpetrated by the group?

I will speak to the legality issue from my interpretation of what went on. Protesting in a city for weeks in itself is actually not illegal. There is nothing on the books I can find that sets a specific time limit on a lawful assembly.

Blocking borders is illegal, I am sure you are fully aware that the border blockades were dissolved by regular legal means before the emergencies act was invoked?

I am sure you are also aware that a judge found the protest to be lawful, with the exception of excessive use of horns during specific hours?

That is why they invoked the emergencies act, it was to bypass the charter to allow law enforcement to dissolve the protest as they were unable to do so under regular legal means.

      Pretty simple stuff really.

    2. @Sapporo Ichiban The government invoked the Emergencies Act because the police were begging for help. After the city declared a state of emergency then the province declared a state of emgency the police could not handle the situation. It was absolutely necessary to declare the Emergecies Act. There’s no way that taking a city hostage is peaceful or legal

    1. I wouldn’t worry about responding to Patty. Patty is one of the least talented trolls I have seen in a while.

  1. Protesting is not breaking the law.
Carry your flags and signs. Express your rights as a free Canadian. This country belongs to all Canadians. Not a self serving few Trudeaus and friends. Speak up Canada. Enjoy YOUR country!

You clearly have your own interpretation of what is and is not a legal protest. I would assume that you disagree with the justice who only found the use of air horns to be unlawful?

What would you consider a legal protest?

Do you denounce the indigenous protests that took place when they began setting fires and becoming aggressive?

Did you denounce the blm protests in the usa?

    2. Mandates are lifted, so what are the protest about? That PM JT is looking out for all Canadians instead of a select few?

    3. @josie faubert I’m sorry it’s not your favorite the letter brigage parade. Too bad, don’t like it – cry me a river. Besides who said it was a protest other than an eleventeen year old reporter who happens to live in Ottawa that doesn’t know what they are talking about. It’s a Canada Day celebration.

    1. Yes any criminal action that interferes with constitutionally legal protesting needs to be prosecuted.

    2. @Pillip Ino I’m safe for the minute right now they are rounding up those that can’t spell.

  2. Kind of an abrupt cut-off there at the end…. was that an unapproved question from the state broadcaster?

  3. Don’t go to Ottawa at all. Stay away. They might learn if no one bothered to go to the city at all.

    1. @Jeff Spicolli the police were inept enough before the political interference. Lives could have been saved.

  4. Don’t go to Ottawa, sounds like they’ll be plenty of harassment from law enforcement. Enjoy your festivities somewhere else folks.

  5. And if they are aboriginal sir? Full force of the law?…equal treatment if the laws are broken?…we will see.

  6. Remember he is out after this so educate yourself on the next mayor. At this point I do not think he cares
