Pennsylvania Officials Announcing New Measures To Slow Covid-19 Spread | MTP Daily | MSNBC

  1. Perhaps Trump declared himself a war time president in order to have an excuse for a half million dead Americans.

  2. its very sad to see a great country like the USA have such a bad response to this virus. At this stage it is criminal negligence.

  3. Mr president Joe Biden please have your DOJ to pursue all legal matters to indict the clown and his cronies for criminal crime to the American people…don’t let him get away with their stupidity..

    1. Canada has 10,000 deaths. America has 250,000. That is 25x more, even though it has less than 10x the populace.

That means at least 150,000 – 175,000 deaths could have been prevented had Trump been as competent as the Canadian PM.

  4. Too bad the republicans refused financial relief and chose death over relief. Plus they don’t wear masks. Too bad.

  5. No one has even looked at how the countries with success with the virus tackled it and tried the same methods. Grade 1 stuff someone should tell the genius in the W.H.

    1. Australia is great they hit it head on and are keeping on top of it they follow the leaders advice and they are up and running now and the economy is pretty good took a hit but people got out once they could and are spending the money the government gave them and traveling in their country to help out the small cities and town what are Americans doing whining like the Tyrant Trump about lock downs and how it against their constitutional rights which it’s not but okay keep whining and you will keep dying!!!

  6. This is sad that we have a country divided to the point that a failed business man and former game show host and admitted liar is considered by 1/2 of voters to be the beacon of truth and the doctors and scientist are the liars.

  7. Anti science is big in the religious right in America. They like the computers and cell phones though! But that’s gods will I suppose

  8. Let’s talk. The US has passed a grim milestone – nearing 200,000 COVID-19 infections a day. For many months some Americans have resisted wearing protective masks because they, “Take away freedom.” Is this really about taking away freedoms?
We are a county founded on the compassionate rule of law. We have seatbelt laws and second-hand smoke laws. These are just two small examples of laws enacted to protect us when we cannot protect ourselves and each other. When functioning properly our representatives in government have the ability, as defined by constitutions, charters, etc., to do those things we cannot do all by ourselves. This may include building highways, providing K-12 education and let’s not forget protecting us from deadly forest fires, hurricanes and our national defense. Governors, legislators and judges, in addition to the media, are working as best as they can, as quickly as they can and with the best available public health information to keep all of us safe; individually we do not have the collective expertise, human and financial resources to manage these challenges. If they need to do this legally by decree, executive order or other provisions allowed them during emergencies then they are doing their jobs.
Although most people are doing the best they can to save lives there are some powerful few who are literally killing people. Take Trump and his super spreader events. A Stanford University study found his rallies have killed 700 people and infected 30,000. Columbia University published a study recently on how 130,000-210,000 lives could have been saved if the Trump administration and his devotees had not politicized science a pandemic that has infected over 53 million and killed 1,300,000 world-wide – so far. Approximately 40% of the infected are asymptomatic and never know they may be spreading COVID according to the CDC.
There is good news. The US government may start distributing a vaccine by the end of the year. It will go to the most vulnerable populations first including first responders. It does take weeks after the first inoculation for the vaccine to take full effect and more than one booster shot may be necessary. No one knows the duration of immunity for anyone who has recovered from COVID or from any particular vaccine. Pfizer vaccine showed 90% immunity but only for seven days. More needs to be understood. Perhaps the singular greatest problem with regard to vaccines is that too many people have been dissuaded from even getting vaccinated at all. If that is the case, it will prolong moving forward precipitously. It is possible we may be wearing masks well through 2021.
Our best line of defense remains masks, social distancing, etc. By taking these basic precautions the University of Washington projects we can save over 130,000 lives by March 2021. Remember, this virus is about 8X deadlier than the 2019 flu and is the third leading cause of death in the US only behind heart disease and cancer. Please fact-check this information yourself. Facing the truth is empowering, freeing. The sooner the more people accept reality, the sooner we can recover together as a country – grieve those we have loved and lost – and collectively address other urgent concerns.
One last thing – we are fortunate. Do the people resisting wearing a mask really have no understanding of what is true loss of your freedoms? Have we learned nothing from history: slavery, disenfranchisement, imprisonment in jails, ghettos and concentration camps, inscription into armies, forced marriage, starvation… Over 85,000 children (under five) in Yemen have died since 2015 directly because of US foreign policy. Currently, millions more Yemen children, women and men face starvation but we can still save them by providing immediate emergency assistance with our International allies. We just have to care enough about their freedom, their literal right to life. I’d like to believe we are capable of understanding false equivalences of facial coverings and the right to life, freedom from extreme suffering. This may not be what we have expected but it is nothing new, not really. And we each have superpowers – our infinite capacity for creative adaptation and a little thing called love. – Please feel free to share this post. Take care, stay safe out there and thank you.

  9. t’rump: “I’m going to fight this court.”
    Courts: “Go on….”
    t’rump: “And I’ll win!!”
    Courts: “Let’s do this!”

  10. The same people who oppose school and business closures are usually the same people who refuse to wear masks, and who are less likely to get vaccinated.

You don’t have to be a socialist to understand that we live in a society, and that “I do me, and you do you,” when taken to an extreme, is just as bad as losing your idividuality to the collective.

It really isn’t complicated. Some things are individual and some are communal. Communicable diseases require the community to fight them.

This only has to be temporary if people would just do their part.

  11. The virus is killing more people every day in the US.
The con man in chief said we were turning the corner. He lied.
The con man in chief said it would be over by April. He lied.
The con man in chief said “it is what it is”. People died.
The Super Spreader in Chief has helped to spread the virus to more people and places.
Incompetent and irresponsible behavior has made the crisis worse.
The GOP cult is dangerous and irresponsible. They call themselves patriots. They lie.
They are killing Americans by politicizing mask wearing and social distancing.

  12. Trump would LOVE to be known as a wartime president, cause that’d be really macho, & that’s clearly important to this clown.

  13. He’s not a war time president he is a coward, He is not smart yet he has his supporters brain washed, which makes me wonder what and who they are. I didn’t know people existed like that till he came long.
