  1. Taxation is my largest personal expense. All money I put to taxes I would put back in economy. Tax reform is needed

    1. @Mr. Ashenfire oh but what about the roads!?!? How much do you think it costs to maintain our existing roads?

    2. @hhiippiittyy no I use roads and that’s it. My doctors office is stateside because you can’t get one here. Other than that what is there?

    3. @Censorship4all
      Cops.
      Schools.
      Firefighters.
      The Military.

You live in a curated and cultivated society and can’t see the forest for the trees.

  2. If canadians can’t afford to eat we sure as hell shouldn’t be paying for groceries for Trudeau or any big earning politicians for that matter!

    1. Not to mention being caught using a plane field with tax payers dollar for a vacation.. which is was caught on. How many vacations does he take a year again?

    2. @B B every primes minister the last 20 years have taken extremally costly trips and a tone of vacation/personal days

    3. @B B  2 or 3 at a couple hundred thousand a pop his perk package ìs higher than his undeserved pay cheques!

    4. @Seaside Mom you are a legend.

Seriously though, PP is a clown. Acting like he cares about anyone other than his donors.

    1. @Colin Cook Yes there is lots of “crown” land, however it is no longer under the umbrella of the British, since we repatriated our Constitution. A little difference, but a difference never the less.

    2. @Andre Frehn if you are using land tenure as an arguement that we in fact DO have land rights as in “to own exclusively ” , I would say you don’t know as much about the tenure system as you think. Perhaps you have a generational family cottage that has implied rights?

    1. @Thomas deGroot bro Justin Trudeau has almost been running Canada for a decade, literally who else’s fault can it be????

    2. @Thomas deGroot
So why would the government then raise taxes now, even my income tax, triple?????? Who are you, and where are you? Lol

  3. Anything after 44hrs a week should be tax free. Working overtime is essential for some families to get by.

    1. @IdealSound & Performance salary has perks. Are you expected to work 12hrs daily?
Most of the jobs I’ve had in the oil field 60hr work week is expected. Anything less and you’re shown the door. Oh and weekends are expected too. One year alone I had 700 over time hours back in 2013 before the NDP got a hold of Alberta.

    2. @MrDmadness It’s an opportunity to make extra money. Businesses that offer overtime obviously have a demand that needs to be met. Sometimes it’s optional sometimes it’s expected. Either way an employee is going above and beyond the average worker and shouldn’t be punished for it.
Have you ever worked overtime? There is a sweet spot for the amount of extra hours a week you want to hit. 20 hours seems to usually be the target. Working under the 20 sometimes isn’t worth it (sacrificing family time) and over 20 has diminishing returns because you just end up paying all of it to the government. I’ve refused work because of hitting too many hours.

  4. Are all MP’s getting the pay raise???? That raise is more than the pension a senior gets. JUST THE RAISE.

    1. Then please stop all your older friends/familys from voting for the conservatives.
Listen to what Pierre says, its all about stronger pay checks and communities, that means if you don’t earn then you don’t count and you better hope you live in a strong community.

  5. I’m seeing a 25% increase in the length of shift worked in my previous job yet somehow the the paycheque has not grown by this much.

  6. Already got a notice from CRA that I’ll need to start paying my 2023 tax in installments. I work freelance and I don’t even know how much I’ll make this year. It’s getting out of control.

    1. You have your own business and couldnt show a valid estimate for taxes this year thats why. Call CRA and show them how much average you will make so they can have a gauge

    2. You can calculate the installments based on earnings from the last 2 years years, doesnt have to be the estimate of this year. Then all will be balanced out the next year. Talk to an accountant

  7. Can we start permanently banning foreign investment in more than one property already? If you don’t primarily reside in Canada, you shouldn’t be able to own half a neighborhood

    1. @J S They still need to register it as a business at that point. Not sure if that 50% applies in this case, but government should do that even for real estate if they haven’t.

    2. @A. Meyers Might not work since there are apartments, it would mean they would need to convert to Condos.

  8. The government has really made things more difficult for its citizens and we can’t sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance. it’s obvious we are headed for hyperinflation,it is always the poor who take the hit.

    1. Investing and trading now will be the wisest thing to do especially with the current economic fluctuation and inflations.

    2. Amen i believe I will have abundance in my financial needs as manifested in your time thank you Lord!!!

    3. I’m a dry cleaner and seeing this felt a sign in me that tells me that it’s my life changing opportunity…

    4. You are more affected by the policies of your provincial government than the fed. You should look at your premier if you are unhappy.

  9. The property tax, water bills, natural gas and electricity bills follow by the inflation going up from 5 to 20% that is crazy Carbon tax alone on house heating cost extra $50 a month plus HST a tax on top of 13% tax why? Property tax went up every year why?

    1. Yes an no. If you would increase wages and benefits, companies will just charge more. The problem as always is profits. Companies refuse to take a hit in profits growth let alone reducing them.

  10. my land tax goes up each year, im 55, so when i retire in 10 years, i will be paying over 500 per month for land tax, then add a mortgage, power, water, sewer, insurance and medication. I won’t be in my house when i retire, I just can’t afford to.

  11. Pierre needs to look at what is happening in windsor Ontario at the windsor salt mine. An American company is trying to force Canadian workers into signing an unfair agreement by starving them out in the streets.

  12. So, Pierre. I have degrees in economics and law. Please cite the last time that Reaganistic ‘trickle ANYwhere’ theories *actually* worked in practice for the benefit of the working class. Just one glorious example will do. We’ll wait.

  13. Like many others I’m sick and tire of paying that carbon tax, high inflation, high interest rate, I haven’t stop working since we move to Canada 33 yrs ago, and it seems like it’s harder this time than anytime before

  14. “When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” –Audre Lorde
