    1. Lyin’ Brian Mulroney was leader of the Conservative Party, but in no way whatsoever was he a conservative, just an opportunist who used the Party to further his power and financial ambitions.

    2. @glenn hankins And ended up destroying the Progressive Conservative party as a result. Yes, it staggered on for some years after being smashed in the 1993 federal election, but it was effectively over then.

  1. Shocked? Who’s shocked? I’m relieved John “City Destroyer” Tory is out. Hopefully he takes his partner in crime “Dr.” De Villa with him.

  2. AM I IN ANOTHER DIMENSION? WEIRD !!! ACTUAL POLITICIAN QUITS OUT OF GUILTY CONSCIENCE? NOW, THAT’S UNIQUE THESE DAYS!!! BELIEVE ME, THERE’S NO THERE THERE !

  3. Old school politician brought down by an old school affair with a younger woman in the office followed by some old school shame and quick resignation. Thanks for the nostalgia John!

  4. My heart breaks for his wife. 40 plus years of commitment, cleaning, dinners alone waiting. Shame on him. Did he say his vows in a church? For better or worse. Shame on him.

    1. How do you know she didn’t have her own flings?

That said, Tory is still a piece of dung. But an affair is the least of the reasons I think that.
