President Biden starts Middle East trip in Israel | USA TODAY

Flying from Israel to Saudi Arabia on Friday, Biden hopes to advance Israel’s desire to establish diplomatic relations with the kingdom which could help the Middle East countries unite against Iran.

President Joe Biden will begin his first presidential trip to the Middle East in Israel — America's closest ally in the region. The emphasis of his trip? Security.

The United States has long had an outsized commitment to Israel. But Biden’s relationship with the Middle Eastern nation has been strained by his attempts to restart a 2015 deal with Iran that was meant to curb its nuclear activities.

The U.S. and Israel are expected to announce a “Jerusalem Declaration” committing both countries to use “all elements of their national power against the Iranian nuclear threat,” the Associated Press reported.

In addition, Biden continues to look for ways to expand defense cooperation in the region.

  1. We know weapons deals are a large part of this trip so why does it have to be a closed door session? The three can say it out loud, nothing and no amount will surprise anyone.

  3. I won’t lie: at 19:00 minutes in, when he was going down the stairs, and got cocky and let go of the rail, I was scared to death he was going to trip.
