The United States will spend billions of dollars expanding its ability to produce nuclear-powered attack submarines as part of a landmark security deal with Australia and the United Kingdom that President Joe Biden detailed Monday.

The announcement, made at a naval base in San Diego with the leaders of the three nations, came 18 months after the creation of the AUKUS partnership to counter China’s growing influence in the Indo-Pacific region. The deal will provide Australia with nuclear-powered attack submarines, which can stay underwater longer than conventionally powered ones and are harder to detect.

  1. The government has really made things more difficult for its citizens and we can’t sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance, it’s obvious we are headed for hyperinflation,It is always the poor who take the hit.

    1. Inflation rates in the United States of America

The inflation rate for consumer prices in the United States of America moved over the past 61 years between -0.4% and 13.5%. For 2021, an inflation rate of 4.7% was calculated.

During the observation period from 1960 to 2021, the average inflation rate was 3.8% per year. Overall, the price increase was 829.57%. An item that cost 100 dollars in 1960 costs 929.57 dollars at the beginning of 2022.

Inflation is the norm with having a republican party that allows the elite 1%, elite, millionaires to gouge prices.

  2. China is growing at unprecedented pace economically.

    Not military.

In addition, any nation with high economy is likely to keep a well stocked military.

Inflation is the norm when a republican party allows the elite 1%, Eli. & millionaires gouge prices….and park prices until a new inflation.

    Greed.

  4. Why go nuclear submarines? I would opt to go with Space Nuclear hypersonic missiles like the Chinese. Imagine China start selling Space Nuclear Hypersonic Missiles like the one they tested last year circling around the Earth before vertically diving down. Hell, imagine every country will want at least 10-20 of their own. It’s coming. It’s coming.

    1. Australia is a massive continent and we want subs that can stay underwater for months without needing fuel.
