    1. We care during times of uncertainty, for example when elections go wrong. Or when the PM tries to grab too much power. So the answer is stability. Also, we’re part of the Commonwealth.

    2. @John Smith while an argument to tradition holds water, I can hardly agree with the ‘stability’ argument, in light of the Monarch’s indifference to Canada and its political betrayal against the citizens and economy. The Commonwealth is useless if the taxpayer finds himself in dire straits after clunky or mischievous decisions are made by her representation. This says nothing of Prince Andrew, whose unlawful protection is paid for by citizens like you and I.
