    1. Well one way is through scientific and research tax grants, tldr you don’t want a patent but want to write off your R/D costs so you share your research with government scientist/auditor types. You get your write-off without having to publicly share your research, which is very important for large infrastructure when your business methods aren’t really patentable but optimizing them is very important/expensive.

      Oil and gas companies spend billions optimizing things like pumping pressure/temperatures, in a perfect world that would be shared so that all the world benefited but in our world its a “trade secret”

  1. He got away with doing this from 2018 – 2022?
    Because he made sure to do it in Quebec where he knew he would be surrounded by french hillbillies that would take forever to catch on.
