The government is playing smart. They raise taxi fare on the people in a time when it is hard so that the people can cry and say that the taxi man them should be grateful for it because every one is suffering. The government is not going to raise minimum wage because they know that if they do so the private sector and private business owners that are from China and spanish countries will be pissed at them and that will affect them and their money. This is why jamaica will never go forward because instead we all stand together and say that this is unacceptable and demand raise for every one across the board at about 30% any thing less than that you will not accept it. Then the government will of yo listen because that will echo worldwide and other countries will see our suffering. Stand apart and say that one is greedy and they should be grateful for that little is the main reason why jamaica stuck because we are satisfy with what is fred to us without questioning the government.

Why them a complain? Everybody have it hard because of the pandemic!! There should have been no increase!! Taxi man dem pack the car dem to full capacity! 2 a front and 5 a back!! Too blasted greedy!
The increase is justified due to increase of gas price, what really need is for payment increase to keep up with the living and the expense these time. The taxi drivers need to understand that the people pay need to be increase too, to facilitate all increase

Well if it is more than 15% how ppl a guh manage. It rough on everybody. Look how many ppl lose dem job.
These are hard times taxi drivers, I do understand everything raise up on you guys too but the regular Joe’s that take your taxis didn’t get any pay raise either so how dem fi pay more when they haven’t been making more esp during these difficult times with covid still hampering the economy. Let’s look at both sides.

Government of Jamaica is a waste of time , youths please try and leave Jamaica, go on farm work and run off, plenty white women waiting out here to fix papers, leave Jamaica empty, land of wood and water!
Raise people pay, and they won’t have a problem to pay the taxi fares everyone need to live
