Rebuffed: Watch Trump’s Own Medical Expert Fact-Check Him At WH Coronavirus Briefing | MSNBC

As Pres. Trump is under fire for spreading misinformation about the coronavirus, medical experts are increasingly correcting the President in public – including at his own White House press conferences. In this report, MSNBC anchor Ari Melber reports that Pres. Trump largely canceled the longstanding tradition of press briefings – part of his efforts to "undercut the free press" – which the White House only restored amid the pandemic. The briefings now include experts, such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, clarifying and correcting assertions Trump makes from the lectern. Pulitzer-Prize Winning Columnist Eugene Robinson says Fauci is a key “trusted voice” for the nation, while Melber applies a Jay-Z lyric to Fauci's and Trump's dynamic – one is "just the facts" while the other just "adjusts the facts." (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 3/24/20.

    1. I agree with you 100%. One thing is for sure: Dr. Fauci can run circles around Trump mentally and physically even though he is about 6 years older than the uneducated, ill-mannered cheeseburger genius!

    2. @karakantouvalos Thanks for viewing the video. Feel free to share it on your FB timeline. I’m trying to get enough views to get an angry tweet, out of the Orange Man.

    3. HERE’S A FACT CHECK! Life is not about us. It’s about our WALK. The way we think and look at ourselves and the world around us. Are we lifting up others up above ourselves, or are we lifting up ourselves above others? Look at society and how they want you to be just like them. Right now the enemy wants us divided. They want us to be fearful BECAUSE IT MAKES OUR SURVIVAL INSTINCTS KICK IN. Our survival instincts are animalistic; we seek to edify ourselves. The people who operate in the occult know the human nature better than most humans know themselves. And they want also for us to look at other people and compare ourselves to them; to point fingers at everyone else and ignore our own faults. This is something we all need to think about.

    1. He is losing it day by day by his actions in only intermittently correcting trump in the most round about way. When asked if he has any data that would lead him believe everything would be good to go by April 12th what was his response? Every other top infectious disease control doctor in every other nation would have said “No, absolutely not. And not only i have not seen evidence that would lead me to that conclusion, ALL the evidence points to it having a probability so close to zero it isn’t worth considering.” And what did he say? He waffled, try to give the impression that nah, probably not, but who know! Things change! And kinda no for new york, but there is other places that aren’t so bad. Can open things up there! Which he then outright and unwittingly has contradicted by saying that a key concern is opening up everything when the virus is just there, under the surface waiting to explode. And the testing they’ve done and will continue to do won’t identify those spots. A non biased intelligent person can read between the lines and realize he will recommend to the president not to open things up, but what does most of america hear? Remember, almost exactly half the population is below average in intelligence and very few people can disregard their biases. The majority hear “we can open up here in texas, and wyoming, and idaho, and iowa and florida and….”. The added effect is that if we can open in two weeks, things can’t be as bad as those fearmongerers are saying! Which leads to less vigilance and more deaths. Dr. Fauci should stand up and unequivocally state the facts openly and in full. And if he is fired, he can go on any news outlet he chooses every night and hammer the message home. And that will ultimately save more lives than pandering to trump and hope some of it sinks in, because it never will.

    2. @Stu Pidas Exactly, and unfortunately very reminiscent of Robert Mueller – stating the truth but then failing to enforce it.

  1. Trump is using these press briefings to campaign because his rallies are shut down. Please for the sake of all of us just shut up and let the experts handle this.

  2. It annoys me when Trump refers to “Tony”, Tony this, Tony that………NO! Dr. Fauci, Dr., Dr., Dr. Fauci. President Trump calls him Tony in front of the camera on purpose! Who does that? What executive, business owner, billionaire ever refers to a Dr. like that? I have NEVER heard any wise, professional person be so disrespectful. Dr. Fauci is the only reason anyone is even watching those press conferences.

    1. JOSE L. QUIROGA – Actually it is trump who gives the false information. He has lied over 15,000 times since he entered (illicitly) the White House. You could check it out. For three weeks he called the coronavirus a “Democratic hoax,” costing us lives, time and supplies. He also inexplicably cut the agencies who were developed to deal with these sorts of pandemics. How can trump be considered as having any credibility at all in these days?

    2. Marissa Chatagnier – If I live to be 1,000 years old I will NEVER address that vile degenerate as president.

    3. Grande1124 – The only way to address trump is trump – not Mr., not President. He needs to realize he is out of his depth and just resign.

    4. Maria Rodriguez – I think not think that trump should be called anything that faintly resembles respect, not having earned it.

    5. He was referring to him by his first name to show the American people he is working closely with him to the point of being on a first name basis, it just another form of manipulation.

    1. Rona loves The Don. It will feast until the last one standing: there will be plenty of PPE, ventilators, chloroquine and koi fish. And no one else left to take advantage of it. Oh— except the koi?

    1. @Marchant2 We can tell his mental age by the way he reads. His verbal reading level is somewhere around the third or fourth grade.

    2. @Charlene Johnson: Maybe “T” “thinks” that all the years he played “Doctor” in the back yard under a bush when he was growing up as a little spoiled brat, qualifies him to play one now.

    3. @Bud Tommy uuhhh….republicans have one old white man in his mid-seventies that’s the size of two….from the neck down, that is.

    1. It’s really important that the economy recovers. If we don’t change the way we do business we are going to lose our way of life to China.

    1. @Bud Tommy i do not get my information from those websites. there are other surveys that suggest otherwise

    2. Bud Tommy  do you still believe in Trumps lies ?
When the world has shown Trumps is making a mess of handling this crisis and you go and blame CNN and MNSBC.
      You need to wake up

    1. Someone has to contradict him.
Dr Fauci is doing the public a great service (once again, the man is a legend among the medical community).

    2. You’ve got the Trump Obsessional Disorder : Prozac can help relief until November. Then pray god

  3. “what do we have to lose?” …. oooohhh possibly thousands of people?…
And btw…why does trump keep showing up? I thought all non-essential personnel were asked to stay home.

    1. Trump is the man of darkness.. the sead from evil. trump is the one that will bring wars. Vote trump out… Trump will bring in the. anitichrist.

  4. REMOVE Trump from these updates.. Stop letting him have air-time.. The Toddler and Chief will have a fit, but we,the public, will be safer…

  5. I’m going with Fauci. Every American will have to decide who we are going to believe and listen to. Dr. Fauci has some courage, conviction and personal integrity.

    1. Dr Fauci has my vote. If Trump is allowed to continued many more will die. God Bless America 🇺🇸

  6. This is what you get when you elect a man-child. Literally everyone around him is smarter than he is.

    1. M W oh honey not all people are junkies like you. Some of us like to live in the real world. Go try it maybe you’ll grow a conscience and some neurons…neuron plasticity is real thing 😉

    2. @Ottilia Boros You fkn moron. I live in the real world, I’m an intelligent, educated woman who realizes the harsh reality of all this! I’ve experienced 1st hand you freak. The man I was married to for 6 years, my sons father has fallen victim with thousounds of others!!!! So take your advice & shove it. You, Donald Trump, all his followers & this F’ing Covid-19!!!! He didn’t think it was that serious, all blown up 🙁 Now look. He’s gone FOREVER!!!! It happens very quickly & painfully. And one is Alone. So watch your words. YOU CAN’T UNSAY THINGS. It does NOT Discriminate based on intelligence. You are NOT immune. I pray none of you experience this 1st hand. Its horrific.

    3. @Ottilia Boros I’ve never done drugs in my life. I hate drugs. Why is it that when people like you run out of valid argumentative discussion you retreat to insults on someone’s character that you don’t even know? You’re Pathetic.

  7. Those drugs weren’t “distributed.” He lied about the drug, AND lied that it was going out to the public. Sadistic

    1. @Carson Bayerl Sanders is far from being a communist. I bet, you don’t even know exactly what communism is. You would defend what ever you think your “way of life” is, even, if it is freaking bad for you…
Greetings from Europe, where we have public health care, 30 days paid vacation and free universitys. We are really FREE and dont have to live in debt and fear of getting sick… and we are far from being communists… But please, stick to your stubborn opinions and make your life even harder than it is. Its quite entertaining from the other side of the atlantic to see how americans defend their problems in their society at any cost…
BTW Free and good education would be a bless for U.S. americans, I guess.

    2. Stef fen look, what country are you from? Because socialism IS communism. Karl Marx created socialism and communism. Socialism was the base for communism. You can disagree with me on the fact of whether or not it’s good, but it’s communism, and you can’t change that. Second of all, think about how socialism works. Everyone gets paid the same amount. That’s not really fair, is it? Because that means, someone who went to college for eight years to become a doctor, earns the same as a person who works the register at a restaurant. That also means lazy bums who don’t work also get paid the same as someone who worked 70 hours a week. Soon, everyone comes to this realization, and they stop working. The amount of money going through the system gets smaller, everyone is getting paid less money, and boom, we’re all broke. We can’t pay off our debts, and the prices of items skyrocket. There is no private ownership, so the government controls the prices. They raise the price to how they seem fit, so it’s a monopoly, because no one can fight the price, because as I stated, the government owns all of that.

You mentioned free college and healthcare.. You need taxes for that. Taxes would skyrocket just to pay for all of that.

And don’t even think about telling me Socialism works. Because Nazi Germany and Communist Russia were Socialist.(in a sense. Nazi Germany was socialist, but Communist Russia was a little different.)
