I have many people on my FB page that voted for Trump and have said if he runs they will vote for him over Trump.. I wouldn’t be so cocky.. I hate the way that the journalist is letting his emotions out through his tone and phrasing. He would be great to have over for poker.

I did find the interviewer’s broken logic interesting.
First he says Amash would be a spoiler by pulling votes from Biden. Then he says that Amash doesn’t appeal to anybody enough in the Democratic Party to pull votes because he is against x, y, and z.
So which is it? Is he “stealing votes” from Biden or nothing at all?

I think he’s assuming that NeverTrumper conservative votes would hold their nose and vote for Biden if Amash wasn’t running. I’m sure that’s the case in some instances (and likely the case for some even IF Amash runs) but there’s clearly a chunk who are NeverBiden (or NeverDem) as well. Maybe they’d not vote (or just vote downticket), or maybe they would vote for some other longshot candidate (e.g. whoever the libertarian or constitution party happens to be). There’s no significant reason to believe that NeverTrumper conservatives would hold their nose and vote for Biden more than some other alternative beyond the binary thinking that you have to vote Red or Blue perio (but if that’s the case, then Amash isn’t a threat, anyway). There is ALWAYS an alternative to Dem/Rep and Amash entering the ring doesn’t change that.
Benjamin Thomander what I’ve noticed is that there a tons of republicans who held their noses to vote for trump just because he was “pro-life” and would appoint “pro-life” justices. With another option, maybe they won’t vote for trump. Honestly I think amash siphons equally from Trump and Biden.

There is NO rational comparison beyond false equivalence.
It’s like comparing a shark and a puppy… they both might bite you, but there’s one you probably wouldn’t mind that much, while the other is likely to destroy your entire life. (As can be seen by Trump’s inability to lead in a crisis. He’s worse than useless, he is actively dangerous.)
