The first death is the big signal of the epidemic. It means there were several hundreds of infections already, most were just asymptomatic. Without strict control, community transmission will start soon.
The second mistake is the policy on facial mask, which could prevent the transmission effectively and reduce the infection number significantly. The mask is not to protect the person with mask, it protects the persons around him.
Quick tests, masks and social distance are much cheaper than ventilators and hospital beds. Once taken these policy earlier, you buy in a lot of time and flatten the curve with reasonable cost and win time to develop vaccines. Political arguments waste so much time!

@Awesome T Can you provide information on that 95% success rate and 500 business deals? I’ve searched and found very conflicting information. Things like “515 businesses and only 11 failed” which was called BS because he’s had multiple hotels/resorts fail for example – but because his hotel/resort business structure hasn’t they weren’t logged as failures. FORBES states that one 3rd of his Businesses succeeded, which is still pretty good according to them but FAR from a 95% success rate you’re claiming.

Looking at the above data directly from respective Government Website we can see there is no
excess mortality in this season in US or Italy and in fact it is lower the five year average in case
of UK. Similar trend can be seen in all European countries through EUROMOMO.EU
In India every year respiratory infarction (Influenza like Illness) kill nearly 3,50000 people 31 i.e
regularly 1000 deaths every day due to influenza like illness (ili). Now if you compare the total
death of COVID-19 patients till now (not every death is due to corona itself, it could be due to
the side effects of medications as explained below), it is coming to be a mere fraction of the
total death due to ILI.

majority of the COVID-19 death is related to
myocardial injury.
2. According to ACC (29 March 2020) 37 , anti- malaria drug (hydoxychloroquine) and
antibiotics (azithromycin)causes QT prolongation
38 leading to dangerous abnormal heart
rhythms.
3. On 29th March 39
, Dr Utpal Barman, a senior anaesthetist from Guwahati complained of
chest pain after taking anti malaria drug (as a preventive measure from COVID-19) leading
to death due to cardiac arrest.
From the above three points we can conclude that the death among the COVID-19 patients may be due
to the treatment protocol of antimalaria and antibiotic as recommended by Indian Council of Medical
Research .
