Robb Elementary School, the Texas school where 19 children and two teachers were killed in May, will be demolished, according to the Uvalde mayor.

Mayor Don McLaughlin, at a Uvalde City Council meeting Tuesday, said officials planned to raze the building. “My understanding – and I had this discussion with the superintendent – that school will be demolished,” McLaughlin said.

  1. It actually makes no sense to tear down the school, it’s just a way that we react when we don’t want to face our emotions. It would be better and result in more healing for the community to keep the school and release the emotions that they are trying to suppress by tearing down the school. Tearing down the school of course will not bring our brothers and sisters back but it will cause us harm by denying the pain that we don’t want to feel about what happened. And any unfelt pain will remain within us until we feel it and release it. By tearing down the school it actually hurts the community and prevents healing.
