Russian shelling destroyed a shopping center near the city center of Kyiv, killing eight people and injuring at least one, according to emergency officials. The force of the blasts shattered every window in a neighboring high-rise in the densely populated Podil district.

Despite a ”continued lack of progress,” Kyiv remains Russia’s primary military objective, according to British military officials. Heavy fighting continues north of the city in north-central Ukraine, but "the bulk" of Russian forces remain more than 15 miles from the center of the city, Britain’s Ministry of Defense said in an intelligence update.

“Russian forces advancing on the city from the north-east have stalled,” the update reads. “Forces advancing from the direction of Hostomel to the north-west have been repulsed by fierce Ukrainian resistance." The ministry says Russia will likely prioritize attempts to encircle the city in the coming weeks.

    1. US is the most hypocritical country in the world. Since, WW 2 it has pretty much been the most evil and selfish country. It always has been fiddling with other countries for its own benefit either for resources or for strategic military advantages or for accessing local markets to further its economy.

US is such a shameless country that it waged a war on false narrative on Iraq and destroyed millions of lives there and still has the temerity to give speeches on compassion and humanity.

If ever, there is law of karma, then US shouldn’t survive another 50 years and there will be civil war and chaos there. Nature will not spare evil for long.

    4. @Indrasena Reddy Now USA sells more oil, Russia is no longer an economical competitor and USA will sell a lot of weapons to EU. USA was fearing EU and Russia are getting too friendly. Now they have a new enemy.

  1. Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine to eliminate nationalists and fascists who are supported by the Ukrainian government. They came to power in 2014 with U.S. support. In 2014, two regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, opposed this government. As a result, official Ukraine fought a war with Donetsk and Luhansk for eight years. Many civilians, women and children died. On May 2, 2014, people who opposed the new government were brutally murdered in the Trade Union House in Odessa. Russia tried to negotiate peace with Ukraine (meaning the United States), but without success. And if Russia had not started a special operation now, Ukraine, supported by the United States, NATO, and Europe, would have gone to war with Russia. The U.S. needs the war to weaken Russia. The U.S. is pursuing an aggressive policy against many countries in the world. Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yugoslavia. If American citizens do not force the U.S. government to remove NATO bases and biolaboratories from Russia’s borders, U.S. defeat is inevitable
