    1. The new irony is that Russia is a mortal threat to all its neighbors and has made Nato the strongest alliance on earth.

    2. @Jack Kybird

“Sorry but a violent coup is what i saw play out” – we can discuss what a violent coup looks like a punch or a bullet. The thing is, this was the public deposing a puppet government that did not represent the majority of the people (coup violent or not).

“So I guess the war will play out and the outcome will be what it is.” – yes, that is the only way it will. Be it Negotiation or conflict, end sooner or later. Russia has lost though, the world has turned from Russia as demonstrated in the United Nations. It is expelled from one council and its voting influence is gone (1 vote, its own, to recognize the separatist regions as independent of Ukraine). Putin has destroyed Russia and its future.

    3. @From Scotland I guess it was a Pro Russian Government replaced by a Pro EU/USA government. The head of state had to flee there was shooting and fire bombs used and buildings set on fire. whatever, The Pro Russian Ukraine Donbass population did not go along with it and fight with the Russians to this day. So I guess you could call it a Civil war until they were annexed by Russia. Or still a Civil war and Ukraine Russia war or a Proxy NATO Russia war depending on your point of view.

    4. @Jonathan Stein NATO was already strongest. Ukraine joining NATO would have put NATO forces on the Russian Border just like in the Baltics. We say its not a threat. Russia think its so much of a threat they have invaded Ukraine. How can Russia ever have been considered a conventional threat to the NATO countries that border it. Conventionally they can not take all of Ukraine let alone take on NATO. I guess the only security Russia has is its nuclear weapons as a deterrent or NATO would have attacked it already.

    5. @Jack Kybird

“I guess the only security Russia has is its nuclear weapons as a deterrent or NATO would have attacked it already.” – but why would NATO attack? It had depleted its military (certainly facing Russia) since the end of the cold war. Europe is trading for Russian oil and gas, expanding franchises etc into Russia. Basically no need to start a conflict when trade is being so productive. So permit me to say, claiming NATO would attack is presumptuous and bad assumption as NATO/US/the West would not profit from it compared to the the (pre Russian invasion of Ukraine) situation.
As you point out, the nuclear weapons guarantee Russia will not be invaded, they are the final defense so in fact as you infer, there was no need to invade Ukraine, Russia was always safe.

“The Pro Russian Ukraine Donbass population did not go along with it and fight with the Russians to this day” – yes, a minority based on the April 2014 polls (27% in 2 polls, see bottom of post).

“So I guess you could call it a Civil war ” – local civil war I suppose, not nation wide. Could have been sorted quicker and with fewer casualties had Russia not supplied weapons and troops, including heavy weapons like the missile system that shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 killing 298 as reported by the Dutch investigation. Had it been dealt with politically via negotiation within Ukraine it would have been far better. Country could have moved forward unified and the separatist regions avoided this self inflicted destruction by allying with Russia with a chance to steer and prosper with the rest of Ukraine.
Anyway, what is done is done. The separatists destroyed that chance.

      Polls:
A poll released by the Kiev Institute of Sociology, with data gathered from 8–16 April 2014, 41.1% of people in Donetsk were for decentralisation of Ukraine with powers transferred to regions, while letting it remain a unified state, 38.4% for changing Ukraine into federation, 27.5% were in favour of secession from Ukraine to join the Russian Federation, and only 10.6% supported current unitary structure without changes.

22nd April 2014. poll taken by the Donetsk Institute for Social Research and Political Analysis, found that 18.6% of those polled in the region opposed changes to the government structure, 47% favoured federalisation, or at least more economic independence from Kyiv, 27% wanted to join Russia in some form, and 5% wanted to become an independent state.

  1. Ukrainians had fought so hard to defend their land. Praying that they can reclaim back what is their own, soon. Our love and prayers are for all Ukrainians and the countries supporting them.

    1. @Yellow Tunes yes in the beginning but now it’s starting to be the other way round why do I think this because Russia is quick to post videos of them doing so does Ukraine but now you hardly see any videos of them taking prisoners but I have now in last 3 months seen loads of Russia surrendering

    2. @Novak look Ukraine does an offensive at quick pace taking back large amount of land in short amount of time where as Russia is taking tiny amounts over months which actually Ukraine doesn’t mind as Russia is totally losing lots of men compared to Ukraine the fields are littered with their bodies which I find sad that Russia doesn’t give a damn about their men most of them don’t want to be there their morale is at basically no morale they get beat up by command or shot at if they want to retreat or surrender instead of dying for a cause most know is bullshit but hey keep defending their actions you have no human morale compass devoid of empathy for women and children getting killed by Russian soldiers

    3. @Yellow Tunes Russia kidnapped ordinary Ukrainian citizens and children. Yet another war crime. They are not POWs, they are victims of Russian aggression. But maybe you can answer this question: why didn’t Russians bring home their own troops who died? Why were there mobilized crematoriums instead? Why did they leave thousands to rot on Ukrainian soil? And why does Ukraine have so many Russians fighting on their side?

  2. Maybe he means Russia needs to get out of the sovereign state of Ukrainia and stop the war of aggression in order to save themselves further humiliating defeat. 🤔

    1. @Noneshere Then Russia should finally start advancing in that general direction instead of retreating into the exactly opposite direction under Ukrainian counterattacks for the last six months or so. You can say what you want… if this looks for you like Russia is winning you need new glasses.

    2. @Casper what NATO weapon, that Ukraine received, doesn’t have equal or superior Russian analogue? For himars ita smerch or Tornado s with same accuracy and range, but more rockets. For pzh2000 it’s koalitsya sv, but it requires less crew members. Patriot is worse in speed and range than old soviet s300, not to mention c400 or c500. So what piece of equipment are you referring to?

Well, except for bayraktars, Russia doesn’t have such drones, but their air defence destroyed all bayraktars within a month or so

    3. @Yellow Tunes if nato weapons are so bad and horrible compared to daddy soviet union as you would call it, why is ukraine taking back more territory than russia is taking? Its kinda dumb to say that the russian weapons are better and almighty compared to everyone else on the planet when they cant even defeat afghanistan and ukraine :laughing emoji:

    4. @Yellow Tunes they have more tanks and artillery because Russia sucks and they got it from their troops running away and leaving them.

    1. How, because Russia is advancing and winning ukranian territories though and Ukraine is just losing and they keep on crying to the west each and every day.

    2. @Ayanda Julian they don’t look at things objectively, they look at things “BASED ON FEELINGS” which is why they will never understand that ukriane is losing. They would rather be fed with delusion than to face reality. It is a fantasy pipedream to think Ukraine can prevail over russia, The Russians haven’t even declared war yet and they still occupied those territories.

    3. @Mage true that,, but the west (NOT ALL) are still blinded folded with their main stream medias and they are forced to be deluted as well.because the reality is completely hidden from them.good people wake up!!

    1. @cc Rider TELL THAT TO 2.38 BILLION *CHRISTIANS* AROUND THE 🌎WORLD THEN WHICH PUTS YOU IN THE MINORITY ESPECIALLY SINCE EVEN THE CATHOLICS, JEWS AND MUSLIMS ALSO BELIEVE THAT JESUS EXISTED TOO, THEY JUST HAVE DIFFERENT IDEAS OF EXACTLY WHETHER HE WUZ GOD IN THE FLESH OR GOD’S SON OR NOT BUT THEY BELIEVE IN THE THINGS OR RATHER MIRACLES HE DID THOUGH=OOOPSY!!👌👿👋👋😂🤣😅

    2. God bless the Nazis in the Ukrainian Azov battalion, may you freedom fighters claim victory for the white race and secure a homeland for the chosen people… lololol! Nazis people, we went from arming Islamic terrorist groups to Nazis…I am not surprised. Stay propagandized my friends!

    3. @cc Rider EVEN ON 💵 MONEY IT SAYS,”IN GOD WE TRUST” & WHY WOULD SO MANY IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE 🎉 CELEBRATE “CHRIST”MAS IS THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD & SAVIOUR WAS AN ILLUSION, HELL,EVEN PUTIN THE TERRIBLE CLAIMS TO BE A CHRISTIAN & JOE BIDEN WHOSE A CATHOLIC EVEN GAVE A CHRISTMAS DAY SPEECH AS HAVE ALL OF OUR PRESIDENTS SINCE NONE OF THEM WOULD HAVE BEEN IN OFFICE IF THEY DIDN’T BELIEVE!!🙏💯💪👌👋👋👿😅😂🤣

  3. I am certain that Ukraine has heard this profound message, and the Russian Empire should rest assured that it is the sincere intention of the Ukrainian people to comply post haste with this demand; the very moment pigs sprout wings and start flying south for the winter.

    1. @jones I even didn’t keep the 2019 election promise of NOT selling agricultural land as my people in Ukraine are too poor to buy it.

    2. @jones And my oligarch Kolomoisky is still laundering his money through his US companies.
He has had several court cases in the US.
Can you look into his dealings?

    3. @Zelenskyy-the-Blackmailer here o_________________o You would do well to improve your mastery of the English language if you wish to communicate properly. Your slander of Zelenskyy in your user name sends a clearer message than any of your comments. It is not a perfect world, and there are no perfect people.

If you are an adult, you should know this. Whatever else President Zelenskyy may be, he is recognized and admired worldwide as a hero and a brave and effective leader, who against all odds and predictions has led a drive that has humiliated the far more powerful Russia and given hope to the rest of the world.

  4. I don’t think Lavrov has been paying attention the last 10 months.

Russia’s pronouncements and ultimatums remind me of the bully when I was a kid who was getting ready to beat me up, and told me I wasn’t allowed to hit him in the face. That was the moment I stopped being afraid of him, and also the moment I punched him in the face as hard as I could. It was a very short fight. I about laughed myself sick as I walked home after the fight.

    1. If you wanted to personify ruSSia think of a big bullying sadistic thug … who lays into the weak and defenceless …. Anyone who can’t fight back

    2. If Lavrov doesn’t stick to the script, he’ll be poisoned or fall out of a window like the most recent victims: Belarus Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei Nov 26th(covertly working with the West)
2 Russian Tycoons traveling in India, Millionaire Lawmaker, Pavel Antov(fell from his Hotel window) and Vladimir Budanov(heart attack which mimics poisoning)
The last 2 criticized the war in Ukraine.
Adds to the many “mysterious” deaths of oligarchs and lawmakers.😳

    1. Russia is far from loosing, they are worse then expected at every single stuff about military, and Ukranians are defending their home bravely, but to be realistic it requires at least 4-5 years of war in this intensity to actually break Russian Military 100k casualty in 10 months ? this number isn’t even close to the breaking point of Russia… Western media is potraying like Russians are loosing badly but i don’t buy it. Russians are taking heavy casualties and they are not able to do combined arms operations etc but it seems that they canhold their ground with enormous artilerry fire(20k artillery piece per day) and even making offansive at Bakhmut…

    2. @Yellow Tunes your point being? Ukraine continuously ramped up its troop strength as supply becomes available rather than in one big chunk. They have to turn away volunteers (in contrast to Russia…). Now Ukraine has more soldiers and more equipment than before the war. And it shows in the steady land gains and “special military retreat operations”.

    3. @Marios Kyprianou Russia is already using all their deployable soldiers in Ukraine. They have nothing left except for very basic defense tasks. Russia can’t replace their equipment because they can’t make basic computer chips and can’t get them from western countries. And then the famous and exalted Russian air defense isn’t able to shoot down Ukrainian drones that close to effing Moscow?? Russia is nowhere close to winning it. They’re not even close to stopping the worst of the losing. Ukraine is still picking up the pace…

    4. @Sterling Campbell logistic + technology – russia is waaay ahead of poor little ukraine! You have to notice this. Russia have hardly used any of its high tech weaponry. Just watch what happens in the next 2 / 3 months – this is based from me just getting my media outside weak cnn.

  5. Why? Why does Russia say Ukraine should give up territory? Is there any logic behind their demands? Since Russian foreign policy doesn’t accept the principles of national sovereignty, what are the principles and justifications they provide for their demands? Is it just Russia is more powerful, and can do what it wants? There are others who are more powerful than Russia, so that reasoning would not end well for them.

    1. @Thea 7790 If your stupid country put as much effort into warfare as you do trolling the internet you might not be sla complete joke on the battlefield. I revel in your humiliation.

    2. @Michael Morningstar when you have no argument, you call them a russian troll. My country has the largest military on the planet. How is your country doing? You are either from the us or belong to a vassal country. Bring me the heads of some russian’s, would you boy?

    1. @Eva Carlsen funny how you say this, tho before the war western media were actually telling the truth. Find ” *The Guardian* Ukrainian nazi training camp” and you will find wonderful video about guys with SS symbols in their necks training kids

You don’t know what fascism is, you don’t know about this war and if i were you – i would be embarrassed to open my mouth on subject i know nothing about

    2. @Pogo what district are you talking about specifically? Because if it was assigned to military base – obviously Russian soldiers voted for Russia

You do know that 70% of Crimeans identify as Russians, right? In 2010 or any other elections they were *overwhelmingly* voting for pro Russian candidates. And when it 2014 kievan nazis from Right Sector were threatening to send them “trains of friendship” (a bunch of nazis coming on train to beat protestors up, like they did in 90s) because they were against kievan coup – choice between Russia and Ukraine became pretty obvious

    1. @Geoffrey Wright the USA regime now in decline is the only oligarchy dictatorship country disguised as democracy and responsible for all this madness

    2. @David Ferrari Oh, is that why so many people want to go live there? Nobody beating down the doors to enter Russia, quite the opposite.

    3. 100’000 dead Ukrainians and a destroyed energy infrastructure begs to differ, the rest of the Ukrainians are welcome to die, there choice, they seem to have a hearing problem, its quite detrimental to there health me thinks 🙂

  6. As a Canadian there’s one thing I will say to all those who are siding with Russia, get a grip on what is actually happening, and understand one word, “NO”. Rewarding Russia for perpetrating child abductions, murder, thievery by the Russians military forces is another “NO”.
Allowing any lands of Ukraine to be kept, then attack Ukraine later for the rest is another “NO”.
Chechnya dealt with these so-called negotiations and ended up with their capital city in ruins.
“NO” what part of “NO” is hard to understand? 😤

    1. The real people that should be hanging there hands are the nations that have screamed for years that Russia are biggest threat to democracies of other nations, are corrupt, and are war mongers.. Yet those very nations even after Trump advised them not to, turn over there nations energy dependence to that nation they called biggest threat… and by being reliant on its energies it also meant those nations funded Russias ability to be a threat! Even after invading Ukraine in 2014 they were awarded the world cup! and still to this dsy those eu nations still paying russia money!

How those nations are screaming that russia was evil… right up-to 2020 were building a new pipeline from Russia to the Eu, which would make the dependence on Russia worse

yet those that made those calls as usual are not brought to task

    2. Problem what do u call supporting russia? if its those say in clear words i want russia to win..thats fine.

But ive seen anyone that asks questions that dosent follow the narrative put out…are smeared as pro-putin. Those that question the money sent to Ukraine are called pro-putin, even people who have to chose between food or heating that question if there tax money would be better spent heloing them.

Questioning the narrative is healthy , mlost people that question what they are told, do so as most i expect believed president bush without question that Iraq had WMDs, only to find out the hard way just coz Saddam hussien evil, dosent mean everything your told about him is true..

so again unless u say in clear words, i want russia to win.., just asking questions and wondering if everything ur told is true isnt pro-putin, but someone who has learnt from the past, and knows more than 1 thing can be true, Russia can be to blame, and Putin evil, but that dosent mean that nato nations havent any blame too

    3. And that is why Russia needs to be pushed out of ALL territories of Ukraine. They just try to win time to re-group and re-fuel and attack again.

    4. ruSSia is like an abusive man who’s wife has just left him . he doesn’t know who he hates more . his wife for leaving him or the man she’s shackled up with . being a total psycho he’d like to kill them both . but this is proving a bit difficult since he’s a total coward and only any good at attacking the weak and defenceless … so he’s in a bit of a bind

  7. “You will surrender territory or else the Russian military will take it into their own hands” LOL In terms of threats, that’s a quite hilarious one. Like isn’t that what the Russian military is trying to do right now?! If not then what in the hell are they doing then exactly?! Other than shrinking their own civilian population of course because they’re certainly doing that…

    1. Russia need to save they soliders right now go back to Russia you all not going to win this war. Victory for Ukraine said the lord.

  8. I haven’t nearly fallen out of my chair laughing in a long time for something politics-related.

“Give up the territories you took back after we tried to steal them, or I warn you our army will do what they’ve been trying and failing to do for 3/4 of the past year.”

The great Russian bear, reduced to petty attacks against civilian infrastructure with cheap Iranian weapons in an attempt to make non-combatants suffer, to make up for their inability to succeed on the field of battle. The fall from international esteem is almost unprecedented. If it wasn’t for the nuclear arsenal, countries would be looking at Russia’s borders right now like a wolf staring at a one-legged chicken.

Putin has opened the proverbial door and invited attacks on Russia’s civilian infrastructure… electricity, oil, transportation… they’re all potentially in play now, by thine own hand. And sadly, as long as the average apathetic Russian buys into state TV propaganda like a MAGA clown at a Stop-The-Steal rally, the absolutely hilarious claims of “terrorism” will keep flowing.

    1. @Hans Mueller Thank you for your service comrade, keep the propaganda coming! Go clean my laundry when you are done, i am running out of pantaloons

  9. Lavrov:
    1. Give us what we haven’t been able to take.
    2. Get rid of the government which has opposed us so successfully.
    3. Disarm yourselves and we promise not to attack you like we promised not to before.
    4. Please don’t notice we’re not winning.
Well, our Tucker and our Trump think they’re good terms.

  10. “The Russian army will take things into it’s own hands.” That kind of rhetoric is so ridiculous given their success in Ukraine so far, I can’t even imagine the most diehard Russian citizen would believe it.

    1. @TheGunnCat Unfortunately 85% to %90 of Russians that live in Russia do believe it. I am American myself but first generation from my parents immigrating to US in early 80s and I watch a lot of YouTube conversation blogs. Most people over there are brainwashed by Russian propaganda. It reminds me of a rabid dog. The animal is pacing back and forth aimlessly foaming at the mouth and tries to bite whoever is trying to help it regardless of knowing its fate.

    2. @BaffinSailor 🇺🇸u need to do a little bit more research about the start of this thing back in February and what kind of shape the Russian army is in right now before you make such ridiculous comments. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦.
