  1. This man isn’t sitting around waiting for an officer to instruct him on every move. He is an informed dedicated citizen soldier who has been empowered to make his own operational decisions. That is the cornerstone of western military success, and the lack of this mindset is the Achilles heel of the Russian army.

    1. @Lester Buckman he is a soldier they even promoted him and he’s in uniform. The confusion is he joined up on his own by showing up on front.

Ukrainian men who are required to stay in country for enlistment. Ukrainian right just like Russia has right to use conscription
But until those men are given weapons and uniforms and normally processed and trained they are not combatants unless they act as that.

    2. @Jack Reacher Whether wielding a rifle or wielding a drone controller, if you are in the military you are in the military. Full stop. Civilians don’t engage in combat operations for a living. Military personnel sworn into the military do.

So yes, he has combatant rights under the Hague Convention.

    3. @Alvinite nope being required to stay in county does not make one soldier until they armed and normally they given uniforms and trained.
Being held in country not uncommon in war time for possible service but until that civilian actually joins service they civilian.

    4. @Milferd Jones Yeah that’s the point I was making. Doing a great job for his country and hopefully will continue to do so till the inevitable Russian defeat. He certainly isn’t doing anything underhanded like some have eluded too.

  2. The part where he said they wouldn’t send an 18 year old in to liberate a village so they let them contribute by flying the drones instead was really sweet. As a mom, I really appreciate that they’re looking after the young ones as best as they can. I’m glad the Ukrainians are able to keep their humanity in the midst of all this horror.

    1. @Jonathan Acs That’s war . He’s doing this for country and might get killed doing it. Don’t forget who invaded who. Are you that virtuous?

  3. This incident only goes to show the ingenuity and skill of Ukrainian citizens. Even ordinary citizens, even gamers, have stepped up and are doing what they can to go against Russian forces to keep their homes safe. The dedication and strength these citizens have shown is inspiring!

    1. We are building unmanned tanks. Gamers are the future of war. Safer and more ethical then developing an A.I.

    2. @Speed&Kustom just because you’re from NA you think you’re tough lmao come to Europe buddy, you’d lose your mind in a day and probably hurt yourself

    3. Our US citizens could never match up to ukrainian citizens. US citizens are stuck making tiktoks and crying over the littiest thing. We could never

    1. Stay calm, not remain calm. Lol. It’s not a bad misquotation but don’t history as it happens. My son would’ve loved this stuff. He’s a Microsoft engineer now. He wanted to be a professional gamer.

  4. Gamers have been training for YEARS for things like this. They really are an under-rated, valuable resource for these types of military activity.

  5. As former Marine forward observer, I can’t even imagine my job with the use of drones. I have a good sense that my knees and my back wouldn’t be so messed up right now. Glad that the drones are leveling the playing field at least.

  6. Ukrainians remind me of Americans in the first half of the 20th century; there was nothing we couldn’t do and nothing we wouldn’t try whether we knew how or not. During the Great Depression my dad left home at 16 to make it easier on the family. Hopped freight cars to go to Colorado and California where the jobs were. In California he was asked if he knew how to drive a truck (to drive produce from fields to barns and markets) and he said he did while he had never driven before and he learned on the job. Pressure makes diamonds or dust and Ukraine is shining like a brilliant diamond. Russia is looking a lot like dust. Russia will be lucky if Santa gives them a lump of coal cause the West ain’t giving them anything, not anymore.

    1. They also remind me of 1776 and fighting the Redcoats (Best Army in the World) sent packing…no disrespect to our current and faithful Allies the Brit’s 🇬🇧

    2. You can include my four older brothers who were Vietnam veterans. One of my brothers had the assignment with others in his group to go into the jungle and rescue downed pilots. He was in the Navy and cruised the gulf of Tonkin in a destroyer called the USS Towers. My brother was no older than these boys flying these drones.

  7. The most important point of this video is the Ukrainians are dedicated and can be tasked with important missions without needing a lot of management. They appear to be far more motivated and skilled than the Russians.

    1. The _most_ important point of this video is that if you use a Chinese-made drone, telephone, computer or any other digital device, the Russians can track you anywhere in the world.

    2. That’s Ukrainian mentality, we do our best always. That’s why a Ukrainian IT guy is always preferred, because he can say NO to a CEO if an idea is not going to work.

  8. He’s of course in another place in his mind right now, my thoughts go out to everybody fighting puti, especially the soldiers, alot of them fathers, some mothers, all of them sons and daughters, SLAVA UKRAINI! Words that will ring thrue history.

    1. Very true. I hope somehow the Red Cross and/or Elon Musk can do a prisoner exchange or safe POW passage for those hapless Mariupol defenders. Apparently they don’t trust the Russians and will likely die. Elon Musk was appealed to on May 12 for aid, and I hope that publicity hound responds.

    2. When you’re in a survival situation and fighting for your homeland it’s understandable his mind set. When you’r fighting in the front lines of war it’s fight or flight and there would be no room to be over emotional, that’s not how you survive and your body and mind are functioning in survival mode.

  9. I’ve been a gamer since 1987. I’ve gamed all my life. There is no way a non-gamer could be as good as a life-long gamer, with joysticks, remotes and buttons… that’s smart to use gamers…

  10. “It’s kinda kinda fun.”

That’s sad. But a neccessary mindset for survival in war. You can’t afford to see the enemy as human.

    1. You’re absolutely right, it is sad. But when you actually consider what these young men are targeting, it’s entirely noble. When you consider the death, destruction and carnage those tanks are inflicting on Ukrainian civilians, what other options do they have? When faced with an invading army, numerically superior, equipped with thousands of tanks, APC’s and artillery they must do what they can to protect their country. But you’re right, war is terrible, but they have my unwavering support.

    2. revenge is fun, no matter what anyone tells you, it is fun to not just sit and take but give it back

  11. MAY THE UKRAINIANS FIGHT FOR THEIR FREEDOM BE VICTORIOUS”
ALL THOSE FIGHTING FOR UKRAINE RETURN BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES SAFELY AND THE RUSSIAN ARMY BE DESTROYED. BLESS ALL THOSE COUNTRIES STANDING WITH UKRAINE IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES.

  12. 👏👏👏👏👏✊ to him, his team and every Ukrainian that fighting back. Patriotism ❤🔥

  13. What an absolute legend! Can’t believe how chilled he is, given that he’s putting his life on the line every day.

  14. I’ve seen countless interviews with Ukrainians, and they always look calm, collected and even cheerful about this war. God help anyone that goes to war against such people.

  15. Hats off to this soldier and the gamers who work together as one 👏 much respect 🙏 👏

  16. I always thought this would become more of a drone war. Pleased to see the use of them effectively in helping to defend their country. Go Ukraine !!

    1. So are America sending more drones?. They didn’t follow that up in this report. He said that they need America to send more drones and nothing more was said about it.

  17. Great adaptability by the Ukrainians, they are evolving with the battlefield. I’m very impressed how resourceful they are and willing to die for freedom.
