Singh slams Trudeau for ‘major flip-flop’ on privatizing for-profit health-care

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh slammed Justin Trudeau for "applauding and supporting' Ontario Premier Doug Ford's plan to move some medical procedures to publicly funded, private facilities to address the growing surgery wait-list.

Singh calling it a "major flip-flop" after Trudeau criticized then Conservative leader Erin O'Toole, in the 2021 election campaign, on the privatization of health-care.

The NDP leader is calling on the House of Commons to hold an emergency debate Monday on the issue.

    1. On the bright side, Singh is presiding over the self-destruction of the NDP. And its membership seems fine with it.

  1. NDP and their support for health care system and their unions and nothing gets to end user the taxpayer. Their reason for the health care system is disaster period.

  2. We need a country wide protest now if we have no money for our hospital how will we pay for private care cause we know that all about the money look at the long term care home’s they are privatize wake up Canada

  3. When you make deals with other parties you need to make sure they are on the same side you are on. Look at what has happened here. Are you surprised?

6 months ago they were joined at the Hip …. what a creep.

  5. Surgeons and other Doctors who run the clinics are private entrepreneurs who are already responsible for paying rent, staff, & providing staff benefits etc.

I wouldnโ€™t advocate for privatizing everything, since all Canadians should have access to all types of care, but we already have a hybrid system.

  6. This guy is a walking oxymoron, we condemn Trudeau but…. we support his government staying in power. The NDP as fallen far from what it used to be under Mulcair. A vote for the NDP is a vote for the Liberal.

  7. At the end, NDP has supported every vote on Liberals policies in Parliament since the Liberal/NDP coalition. Singh, prove to Canadians your words matter and break the coalition with the Liberals.

  8. Here’s an idea Canada gets rid of all liberals and ndp all together. This country should only run off of conservative views for a long time. Then maybe just maybe we could be in the green agian.

  9. It bothers me how no one is questioning how what Doug Ford is doing isnโ€™t privatization ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
