    1. Most of these gop are multi millionaires 10k will not stop them from overthrowing government and harming other members of senate and house , Of course they don’t want to go through medal detectors, GOP REPUBLICANS are carrying guns and possibly bombs 💣 into the capital again, invoke the 25th amendment now

    2. I agree, they’re out of control usher them out if they won’t comply. They must lead by example but they’ve been led by unruly leader for so long its no surprise .If they insist that money they pay for their disobedience can go towards repairs no matter how simple the amount may seem to the damage done.

    2. When I went to public schools back in the 1960’s and 1970’s there were no security officers and I never saw a police officer there either

    1. 1. @look it up Well, I guess so, but refusing to go through a metal detector should not be allowed. There are all kinds of people who might want to bring a bomb in — and could place a small device in anyone’s briefcase. What are these idiots signaling to Isis or the far right domestic terrorits?

    1. Of course they don’t want to go through medal detectors, GOP REPUBLICANS are carrying guns and possibly bombs 💣 into the capital again

    1. Politicians “should” feel honoured to have been given their positions by the electorate & then lead by example.

    1. @Winter Came It won’t change because you were dealing with the power of the elected official. Nothings going to change and we have some really suspicious people on our side also. Nothing is going to change.

    2. @T. R. Campbell any law congress passes should be found unconstitutional if the law doesn’t apply to them to. At least that’s my opinion. As for federal buildings, there’s a law that states only law enforcement are allowed to be armed with a deadly weapon in federal buildings and only when it is directly related to their official duties. It has no other exception.

    3. @Andy Smitty Yes indeed, but lawmakers consider themselves, “law-enforcement” because they are lawmakers.
Why would we want to disarm our lawmakers? More than anyone else they have the right and the ability to defend themselves if they are trained and if they pose their CCW. I carry a Glock 21 in my purse because as a woman I feel I need to fight back if the situation arises. During campaigns I am in DC much of the time. I meet with my clients very often, we go out to dinner. I often arrive back at my hotel late at night. Washington DC is a dangerous place to walk around at night even if you were going from your car to the hotel. Parking garages can be very dangerous.
Some might argue that we should disarm our elected representatives but I strongly disagree.

    4. @T. R. Campbell your conceal carry doesn’t let you carry a firearm into government buildings. If lawmakers want the ability to carry firearms into government buildings then they should remove the law prohibiting firearms from being carried in government buildings. Ie they should not be able to make a law that applies to others that excludes themselves. A law that excludes the lawmakers is one that puts them above the law. I get the desire to say oh they need to protect themselves, but why should they have more of a right to protect themselves then the people they represent. I have no problems with firearms, conceal carry, for that matter open carry. I don’t particularly agree with open carry, because it makes some people uncomfortable and there are people who open carry flamboyantly. Ie the ridiculous people who strap AR’s to their chest and walk around in combat gear.

If a congressman is getting threats or feels that a threat is warranting the carrying of a self defense weapon, then maybe they should be assigned law enforcement protection. If law enforcement protection is not adequate in a federal building then maybe the discussion of Increasing security is warranted.

As for your reference to being in public not in a federal building, I absolutely have no issues with someone legally carrying a firearm.
