  1. The lawlessness needs to be addressed. These taximen deserved the tickets they get. Dem fi shut up and goh learn fi drive.

  2. Mr Numan, you are a part of the break down of good morals in Jamaica. Advice your associates not to break the law and they won’t need any amnesty. When Is it accepted that if you break the law you should be given preferred treatment, what are we saying to our people? We are planting corn and expected to reap peanut. The moral fiber of Jamaica as being shredded away yard by yard

  3. When it comes on to crime the Jamaican government is lazy. SOE is a lazy tactic. It will take way more than SOE to fight crime. Also the wages in all sectors except politics, is very low compared to worldwide averages. Tourism, BPO, Medical, Education, police sectors salaries are extremely low and need a significant increase. Foreign investors like the fact that Jamaica labor is cheap and that’s why they popping up shop but low wages leads to increase in crime also.

    1. The global elites want us to keep killing each other!! It’s population control!! Who do you think is flooding the community with guns?? Same thing happening up here in American Black communities! I don’t know know niggas who know how to manufacture automatic weapons, large scale drug shipments or own go fast boats!

  4. These taxi men sick stomach, they need to have some manners can’t believe they’re transporting people and have such hostile behaviour, they need to pay up their fines and get on with it.

  5. Don’t give them any amnesty they don’t deserve it,they are the most Law breakers, and the government should not bow to them and that man Newman lie ,lie my God

  6. This latest state of emergency is not going to make one bit of a difference, to get on top of the rampant crime situationt that is raveshing the Jamaican society now, the government should declare martial law through the whole of Jamaica and a strict dust unit dawn curfew should be in place for at least two months, this should give the law inforcement enough time to go in and root out the criminal and murderous gangs from the community once and for all.

  7. Sorry to say but jamaica needs a more strict government , them have too much freedom dung dey, they need a kind of authoritarian government

  8. I absolutely have no love for most taxi men and bus drivers, i have been a victim of their nasty driving and in 2018 on my way to ochi on a Browns town bus almost lost my life because of aforementioned nasty driving. That being said i know their are some conscious taxi/ bus drivers out there and its unfortunate all around that the good have to suffer for the bad. However, the government can grant the amnesty being asked for to give them time to pay up those tickets by a certain date, if for whatever reason they fail to do so, suspend their license for two years and also make it mandatory that they do to driving school and relearn the driving laws/ codes etc. The government has no respect for the majority of its citizens and because of this they are not interested in coming to a fair resolution…i wish us all luck andbGod’s grace because we are certainly going to need it, we all ( with exception of the people from the other Jamaica) are on a runaway train to certain calamity, those who can jump off, try it, maybe you will survive.

    1. Well said. Could there be other factors that are affecting people to behave this way? Economic, food/drug, social, climate, etc.
I am no expert, but I have a hard time believing (along with the crime) that normal people act this way (psychologically speaking).

    2. The ticket system is broken and the government needs to create a effective tickets paying system. It must be fast, easy and the driver’s name should be cleared if paid. There needs to be a ticket lawyer and court hearings for these tickets.

  9. For the situation with the taxi drivers, the Authorities shouldn’t meet with them over tickets that’s not been paid ? How can you give a person 10 to 20 or more tickets and they are not paid, those taxi operators need to obey the laws ,dem drive like a dem own the road and having 10 ppl in box car . Me personally wouldn’t meet with dem just off they don’t respect laws ( you can’t want better and still a do wrong , that doesn’t make sense)

  10. No matter what I love Jamaica. I totally agree that the problems in Jamaica really is the fault of the politicians. This problem is more historic than most of you actually realise. I lived in Greenwich Town during the election in 79. I couldn’t understand why anyone would issue firearms to locals who clearly had no license or adequately trained to use those firearms.
I strongly believe that none of the political parties can solve this simply because they have been infiltrated to the max. Jamaica needs a party that cannot be bought but has a real agenda to rid 95% of the guns, take more control of the hospitality sector so workers can get a better wage. More taxes mean better wages for law enforcement officers. Any outsider wanting to go into real estate must used 90 % of the islands trained workers and so on. Government to control all contracts until local contractors can be trusted.
You really have to love Jamaica to want better.

  11. The only response the government should have regarding tickets issued to these taxi operators, is to REVOKE THEIR LICENSES FOR NON Payments!!

  12. The same poor idiots this state of public emergence will save, are the same ones who are going to complain about it. There should be an indefinite state of emergency in Jamaica. The country needs to be brought to heel. The opposition will not support the extension of the state of emergency.

  13. Long time, I love my country, I won’t come to Jamaica and feel safe, blessing and peace on Jamaica land we love,,

  14. Not 🚫 just 🚕 taxi, and bus 🚌 ticketing system in Jamaica needs to be regulated, the drivers, their mind, their behavior, their attire, their iGen, their back up assistant, etc need to be regulated

  15. I know Jamaica has changed a whole lot but my Lord, when I noticed how taxi men drives on those almost no roads I wonder. Only the good God of heaven can help our beautiful Island. # 1❤
