The Supreme Court conservative majority voted 6-3 against New York's "proper cause" gun law which limited open carry ability in the state.

Associate Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the opinion for a 6-3 majority, holding that the New York law violated the Constitution and signaling that other gun regulations disconnected from what he called the nation's "historical tradition of firearm regulation" would face similar scrutiny in federal court.
Thomas' opinion had the potential to upend the legal landscape around Second Amendment rights as Americans remain divided over access to guns. Congress is racing to pass a sweeping package of restrictions in response to mass shootings, including one at a Texas elementary school last month.

Does she think mass shooters take the time to get a conceal and carry license or something? Concealing a weapon illegally is just one more in a long list of crimes perpetrated by mass shooters. Why focus on that?
If she wants to reduce gun violence, perhaps she should advocate for *more* people to get their conceal and carry permit legally. As criminals may be more hesitant to perpetrate crimes when the risk of running into an armed victim is higher. Deterrents can be surprisingly effective. Even as a liberal independent this seems pretty obvious.
This was the right outcome.
