As a New Yorker I’m going to respectfully tell you to shove it. New York and New Jersey were blindsided and had no playbook. New Yorkers should be proud for how we handled this challenge with zero leadership from the White House. We didn’t have a warning bell that the rest of the country had… he/we had no time to prepare or any therapies to prevent deaths. The rest of the country had the time and squandered it.

But the Resident in Chief decided to go after the WHO, CDC, and attack China, making it hard to get a handle on this. ALSO, Obama left a playbook that that resident repeatedly denied existed until Barr came out and admitted that it did. China wasn’t too forthcoming with info or was slow, some say. Who knows? I’m from NY and I can honestly say that there are a lot of people who had families in nursing homes who died unfortunately. When Cuomo changed his policy of forcing sick elderly patients back to nursing homes he also made a law that families could not sue NY.

We’re not at herd immunity levels here. We can still suffer another spike of people get complacent. Cuomo like many others didn’t want to crash the economy. Despite his delayed reaction he was still ahead of Trump in regards to a plan to fight the spread and taking the virus seriously overall. Gavin Newsom responded quicker, being the first state to lockdown but now they’re struggling with an infection spike. I think anytime we become complacent, the virus gets ahead of us. And there’s enough people out there that think this is a hoax or masks are just control, which sadly makes this even harder…
Good, gotta cover all angles. I think Cuomo / NY modeled an “appropriate” way to handle COVID but there is a LOT of room for improvement.

Your governor tried desperately to cut Medicaid funding during a pandemic. He waited a full week to shut down after we did in California & he knew California was going to shut down ahead of time. He then had Covid patients dumped in nursing homes & several nursing homes booted out elderly and disabled patients, to make room for Covid patients because they earned an extra $750 per day per Covid patient. Several people were dumped, without their families even being notified, in homeless shelters. He even fought behind the scenes to keep people locked up in prison.The man is a psycho.
