Texas Congressman: ‘This Was Foreseeable. We Knew This Storm Was Coming’ | The Last Word | MSNBC

Rep. Colin Allred tells Lawrence O’Donnell that millions in Texas remain without power and heat in freezing weather because Republicans chose not to weatherize the Texas power grid to handle winter storms “and it’s costing lives.” He says there needs to be accountability for a “state government that is leaving its people to their own devices.” Aired on 02/18/2021.

  1. The citizens of Texas needs to sue the governor of Texas in all who is in charge for the actions that they take in office concerning the people of Texas

  2. The world is starting to see the USA as a third world country. Where the rich elite hoard the wealth and the average citizen is treated like dirt. And they applaud them for it🤷🏼

    1. It is the same here in Britain, all the decisions are made by the rich to enrich themselves even more and screw the rest of us.

  3. Bet California, the state Texans love to criticize and demonize, is looking pretty good to them right now. 😂 At least we still have electricity!

  4. Foreseeable especially since this exact same thing happened in 1989 and 2011 A federal report even recommended steps including installing heating elements around pipes and increasing the amount of reserve power available before storms, noting many of those same warnings were issued after similar blackouts 22 years earlier and had gone unheeded

  5. #ERCOT AUDIT & ACTION REQ’D.
Power Providers, facilities, equipment, pipelines, power lines, processes & protocols, methodologies, and quality.

  6. Instead of staying in Texas and helping people out, Ted Cruz is currently in Cancun Mexico. 🤔

Elections matter, vote these Republicans OUT of office.

  7. Just wait till we get hit with a solar flare and we get that geo magnetic storm that absolutely nobody is educated about n that makes me sick

  8. “Time for Texas to tough it out and pull themselves up through sheer determination.” said Ted Cruz on his way to vacation in Mexico.
