  1. Can you imagine how “modern” Americans would react if we lived under the rationing restrictions like during WW2?

    1. . . . . and complete rationing due to WW2 didn’t fully end for 14 years in the UK .

    2. @Ynwa6 1st of all, DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT; Here is the URL for the website describing what & how things were rationed in the USA during WW2: nps.gov/rationing-in-wwii.htm
According to the article, FDR issued Executive Order 8875 to create the Office of Price Administration (OPA) on 8-28-1941. This OPA placed a ceiling on prices to prevent price gouging and limited consumption by rationing. The 1st ration card was issued in May 1942 it was popularly called the “Sugar Book” other ration cards and stamps were created as the war progressed.
If you care about facts over partisan ideology, read the article for fuller details.

    1. @Beverly Hills This entire episode is a total wag the dog government over reach, total control power play. I don’t care what your propaganda asserts.

  2. When mentioning Texas, they show people pushing around carts in the parking lots with masks on. Let me tell you whats going on in Texas, restaurants full of people and only some are wearing masks. Not even all servers are wearing masks. They need to show the reality of whats going on here.

    1. @Steven Tucker account for all other deaths rates going down. Everyone that dies dies of covid. No one dies of a heart attack stroke and coroner does not wait for results to mark down covid deaths. I bet there are people with gun shot wounds that are dying of covid. Its all lies and in 6-7 months we will all be starving and killing each other.

    2. @Steven Tucker and yes I do know what pandemic means. Who cares, there is a 99% chance of recovery. Its not an emergency, its an effort to depopulate.

  3. The two biggest diseases in the United States right now are COVID-19 and Human Stupidity.

    1. @Robert Murrell everyone knows it’s Trump Derangement Syndrome. You seems to have it. It’s spread by liberal media. I hope you find a cure cause he’s going to be your president for four more years 🤗

    2. @Jeffrey Lorien true but it can be controlled with behavior modification which is the same solution used to prevent covid. Next?

    3. @okedoke1234 Texas reopened 25% this weekend. That means a restaurant can have 25% occupancy.
Not for me though. I think covid needs to die way down before I find myself back in a restaurant. Not in a hurry to die.

    4. @Vanessa Story I agree with you it is a tough situation. And I know people across the economic spectrum in Austin.
This week I was watching more Bill Gates interviews. He made a good point in many of them – basically if you open too soon, it will be a lot more costly in human mortality. Texas is still having major covid percentages. It is too early to be opening business.

    1. @Victor You aren’t ever going to make basic reality. Moron. Stupidity always enjoys company, You have a friend for life.

    2. @Emmett Hardie You are the one to stupid to notice that networks like cnn dont want to talk about the statistics in Texas because they are very low it is almost like you want to see us get sick it’s as if you wish it was worse for us talking about how I am going to die even though I never even insulted you you disgust me and are part of the problem with society today.

    3. @Victor hey, bumble boy, I am not in America , and have access to a multitude of media information, that is not predicated on US ownership. As usual, to caught up in your foolish inward World view. Duh Texarse just a State and your fatuous , Trumpist assertions, match real World statistics in no way. Frankly you expect me to believe data from a Republican Governor, who has a Lieutenant Governor, who said on Fox that the elderly should die so the hairdressers can open. The axiom Big as Texas..and as Stupid, witless & stupid as. But at least you have your guns, pity the population is smaller than weapons ownership. But unsurprising. Texas.. The Lone Stupid Star State.

    4. @Emmett Hardie Im not a citizen of America I am a citizen of the United States of America you dunce. Oh really? A “multitude” of media information? Homeless people in the US have internet too you cretin. Then what is your excuse for being so pitifully, woefully mentally impaired? For example, you believe that the governor releases the data personally instead of the DSHS the department of state health service. So at this point you are just embarasing yourself.

    1. @Steven Tucker I ADORE YOUR COMMENT! I concur! Absolutely wonderful! God bless you Sir!

    2. @Robert Cavazos Some people are blessed with an amazing ability to prosper quickly. I was married to a man like that and have met several other people with that gift in my lifetime. It is a reality for some people. Even I have seen that working very hard and working “smart” brings lot a of prosperity much quicker than the norm.

    3. @TheRoyalHam More people have already died in 60 days than have ever died in a flue season. You’re the one who is ignorant here. Its your government who has let the US down. I’m in New Zealand we shut down as soon as there was two community spread cases- after five weeks we are almost coronavirus free. Only 19 deaths total in the whole country. Coronavirus is almost over for us. But in the US because you didn’t shut down earlier and harder- you won’t be over it for years. It will destroy your economy. Your government was asleep at the helm.

    1. Yes it’s called breathing. With my glasses my mask will fog up and it’s a whole mess. I’m only wearing a banana since its mandatory

    2. Young Dab-A-Roosa Masks are NOT to protect you it’s to make sure that if you have it you do not spread it!

    3. Ganiscol Masks are NOT to protect you from getting the virus it’s just in case you have to protect others from catching it off you!!

    4. It can get into your eyes too. It lives up to 6 days on shoes and unwashed clothing, including masks! “Pride goethe…” be smart folks!

    1. Troll Dicktaster hey why does your page have “O” content? Your life that boring? Boy

    2. Andrew. The only thing being manipulated is you tiny little a$$ mind. But if you stop munching of those magic shroom’s, these mindlessly asinine comments will start to slowly fade away.

    3. So I’m probably gonna get called names now, but can we try and be civil? 🤪 Dr Brit’s psa was uploaded stating that where states were observing the stay-at-home orders they have seen good progress & she does not want gatherings. She mentions to continue for 30 days. Places that have not been observing the lockdowns have seen spikes over the past week. Conclusion: distance works. Let’s keep it up & for us on how to get people back to their jobs. Name call me all you’d like, but there it is plan and simple. On a serious note: I hope all of you & yours are safe and I wish we can work united to help fight this virus….. dang, I sound like a tree hugger 🤣

  4. I live in Dallas, Texas. IDC if they are opening it. I am staying the f home as much as I can financially and mentally care for myself.

    1. New Normal World Order your not mentally strong then because I love being at home only strong minded people are gonna survive y’all can go ahead and go outside I’m not risking myself or loved ones just to be with friends that wants to get drunk or party

    2. To each their own, I don’t mind staying home. I have everything I need plus I get to play with my dog in my yard and the empty field in the back. I am still texting and speaking with folks. Thank you for worrying about me and my mental health at home. You guys are welcome to go as you please, but still remember to keep up with your hygiene. Stay safe everyone😊

    1. I live in New Mexico in a small tourist town inundated by Texans throughout the year.. were scared to open till we see good and well how it goes with Texas

    2. A nation of ACTION, not words. Ruled by STRENGTH, not committee. Where the law changes to suit the individual, not the other way around. Where power and justice are back where they belong: in the hands of the people! Where every man is free to think — to act — for himself! There’s no saving it — we need to pull it out by the roots. WIpe the slate clean. BURN IT DOWN! And from the ashes, a new America will be born. Evolved, but untamed! The weak will be purged, and the strongest will thrive — free to live as they see fit, they will make America GREAT AGAIN! – Metal Gear Rising (2013)

    3. TBH opening Texas is a horrible idea since many people will keep getting d virus🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

  5. Opening back up because there is only a slight drop in cases is like saying “the parachute has slowed my rate of descent, I can take it off now.” Halfway up in the sky.

    1. @Austin P i think hiding from a virus makes it linger longer and worse really right?, it just needs to pass through the community and most are immune

    2. Jeremy Shiner
People do need a chance to build up immunity, yes. I am not against a reopening. I just think it needs to be taken cautiously. And, some of this is confusing.

I heard that the USA was inflating its number of deaths from COVID-19. Someone even linked an official source where doctors were told to do so. But, it was a sham (I read it). The official source said nothing like that at all. The story was like something Alex Jones would fabricate, hoping that viewers would never check his source. Anyway, someone is intentionally spreading disinformation among conservative circles.

I remember local hospitals being maxed out merely a few weeks ago. Now, we are being told that the official numbers show that COVID-19 is less deadly than the flu. I do not remember the flu ever filling hospitals. I, now, hear that hospitals are doing fine. But, we have also been in lockdown for a while. So, I am not so quick to rush back out. The Left lies like crazy, but I am not going to blindly believe the Right either.

    3. @Austin P A lot of people get the flu i am sure and do not go to the hospital because they are less fearful of the flu but the media is essentially scaring some people with really false Corona statistics so if you got an ailment like coughing or fever people probably rush to hospital just because the potential Corona propaganda they been consuming, why not be scared of the flu? The flu is not in the media much stirring panic but it easily could be

    1. Shanna Gibson ..or the time you have left on this earth, because at this rate of reopenings and more people continue to get ill, at some point these health care workers are going to be burnt out, then what’s gonna happen to us ? Exactly

    2. @jdwrcc Nice to see some rationality in the replies. With all the conspiracy garbage it’s easy to forget the very clear and present danger the virus remains.

    3. its easy to do that when you have everything paid for, there are millions who live paycheck to paycheck who will never be the same from this, is it all worth saving the life of someone who was probably going to die soon, either from old age or underlying health conditions

    1. @J M If people like yourself were the only ones contracting the virus then we will do it your way, unfortunately some innocent essential workers or grocery shoppers are going to get infected because some idiots think is just like the flu.

    2. @Gnarly Verga I’ll say it again, then stay at home if you’re afraid. Or don’t you think that will keep you safe?

    3. @PeacefulJoint I’m blessed, I know. U never know what people are going or have gone thru. Humility has changed my priorities. I will be able to stress about finances soon enough. But everything has its due season. And with large corporations and small businesses suffering, it’s inevitably going to trickle down to everyone, so why stress prematurely when all that does is cause immunosuppression? It’s all about perspective, really. I choose to just live in the moment now and cherish this time I have with family. But I pray you’re able to find a moment to just relax and BE when you’re able to.

    4. @Gnarly Verga Pretty much everybody that is against opening up any cities/states, has no answer for how long we should stay on “lockdown”, Including idiots like yourself. No offense, I’m sure it’s genetic.

    1. @Tf2knight 60k of inflated numbers, but let’s say somehow those were all purely COVID, yes it is cause to be concerned, no it is not reason to shutdown an entire nation (or many nations in this case).

Flu is a cause for concern, doesn’t mean we should use it as an excuse to panic.

    2. @J M the problem is they want to force everyone else to stay in their homes watching TV programmimg all day and night. I’m guessing most that support the lockdown are non-essential folks who are getting unemployment

    3. @Des Troya it is a reason to be concerned, but not to shut down entire nations. I couldn’t agree more

    1. A.J. I can’t take you seriously if you call me sweetie. In my state MN, the average age of death from covid is 83, with an infected age range from 4 weeks to 102 years. Almost 80 percent were in long term care, and 99 percent had preexisting conditions. From this data one can conclude that most people are indeed not at risk. You might get sick (at least 1 in 4 show no symptoms and for the 3 in 4 that do only 1 in 4 need to go to the hospital) but you don’t shut down everything and hide from something that isn’t lethal to the vast majority. The USNS Comfort leaving NYC from lack of use speaks volumes as well.

    1. I think their Lt. Gov. should definitely volunteer at a Covid19 ward. After all, he’s an old guy and he should be prepared to sacrifice for the good of the country. That’s what he said, isn’t it?

    2. you cant tell someone to do that its not your right, nor is it the governments, if you want to stay home, YOU CAN! because you are a free person, if someone wants to go outside and potentially have a very very low risk of getting this and dying from it, HE IS FREE TO DO SO, because its a free country, if you are an “at risk” person, then its probably wise to stay home, but its YOUR decision to make, not the governments, we take risks every day in life, the government does not exist to take those risks away, it only exists to protect the rights of the people, and the people must protect themselves the best way THEY SEE FIT

  6. I cry for all those American who lost their lives. Saving a life is more precious. A haircut can wait

    1. @Q the omnipotent i know right YUTUBE is full of tutorials on how to cut hair, and for the girls how to due your owm nails
      Instead of going to salons….smh

    2. @Zach Maxwell I knew a healthy 20 year old woman with no underlying conditions who succumbed to it. I would tell you to take your chances, but your negligence is going to end up harming others as well as yourself.

    3. @Q the omnipotent I never got tested but if i had it I probably got the sickest out of anyone i know, big cough and raspy breathing for a couple days then I was fine. No one else has had bad symptoms, just had it bounce off the immune system, or avoided it altogether.

    4. @gdtoob ok, so a total of 3 people under the age of 18 have died in the US. And a total of 300 people have between the ages of 18-44, that is literally NOTHING, compared to the 70,000 who have died altogether, obviously it’s not a good thing a person died, but this 20 year-old had a better chance of being hit by a car, or being shot to death, than die from covid, you can’t just take the extreme example and say “look at this”! Now we have to shut down the country. If we did that, the nobody could drive cars, nobody could build skyscrapers, nobody could even use hair dryers, using your logic, nobody should ever do anything that has risk involved

    5. @Memes Aren’t Funny Very smart response and totally agree. The facts and science supports this post – based on numerous studies. In the fake news media of America, they never show the downside to keeping our country closed. In the end, when it is all said and done, the death toll from closing the country may turn out to be superior to the death toll from the virus itself. We shall see. They should share those stats with us. Where are we on that chart now? Sucicide + cancer going undiagnosed because people not going to their check-up +heart attack not being brought to hospitals by fear of contracting the virus, lack of exercise leading to slow death later on, domestic violence, people getting shot for not observing social distancing, etc. etc.

  7. If you die, you don’t have a job or a business either.
Money rules all, the American way.
    SMH facepalm.
