Tom Holland says he is stepping away from social media to focus on his mental health.
The "Spider-Man: No Way Home" star, who has been absent from digital platforms in recent weeks, made a fleeting return to Instagram on Sunday to announce he had deleted Instagram and Twitter from his devices. #CNN #News
Smart man. I just took a month off. It’s good to take long breaks in order to reset. Social does a number on the mind!

Read a spiritual book, take walks get in touch with nature, volunteer. Visit the forgotten in the United States of America ( Seniors ) Who are dumped on nursery homes… That’s one of the biggest Sins of American culture .. Sing songs to them, or listen to their grandiose stories. They have imagination.. Make your live worth something? Don’t just exist GIVING is the Alisent…
It’s not just the young that suffer from social media.
He just got dumped. I hope he doesn’t jump off a building.
If only the Democrats could take a Donald Trump break. 😆
Tom, take a break, as long as you want. Seriously, break room exits are closed for renovations, you can socialize if you want but you shouldn’t come back here.
What gene are we supposed to be born with that gives us the super power to interact with millions of people; cater to their individual wants and wishes? Ignorance may be bliss but for some people that comes at a cost.
Your comment reminds me of the book “So you’ve been publicly shamed.” I think that should be required reading in school lol. Our technology and society has evolved much faster than we have as a species.

Good for you Tom I hope it all works out for you first steps are the hardest it gets better after that
Feel my heart. You ninny.
I’ve deleted all social media for the exception of YouTube. I’m definitely not an actor or high profile person but, noticed it was feeling unhappy the longer I stayed online. Now I practice guitar, paint and play with the dog a whole lot more and feel happier. I grew up without having a cellphone and I’m working on getting back there a bit more.

I just deleted Instagram, and deactivated Facebook last year. I’m now at a point where I don’t need it anymore, but I haven’t made a decision on when to cut it altogether. Still keeping YouTube because I may start my own cooking channel here.
Zendaya dumped him. He no longer wants to post on social media. I see he is deleting her pictures.
This is very smart and I applaud Tom Holland. I think Twitter is VERY negative, whether one has “negativity bias” or not. I deleted my Twitter account and I’m a lot happier for it. I also hear a lot of people say they are addicted to Twitter but I’m telling you, life is a lot better without it.
Now your addicted to youtube… the reason why you write comments is to have someone validate your existence, the conversation and passing of time stimulating your mind.
Tom Holland is worried because of vanity. He takes opinions and places them in a negative light, when someone perceives something in you bad or good, all you can do is rationalize what has been said and then compare to what matters to you. If anything if what was said was rational you can work on it, never focus on irrational comments, like insults or things that are impossible to change, you have to accept your faults… then people can’t mess with you easily.
I get comments about my spelling… and i simply don’t care because it doesn’t mean anything… if i was worried about spelling… i wouldn’t be making spelling mistakes…
Really,? You care about this bozo, are you his PR guy?

You go Tom I think you are doing the right thing. I think social media has became a little out of control anyhow
Wrong move from Ted in my opinion, dog. He needs to tweet bro, it’s the only way to twork it out!
@JR Porter *who tf is “Ted”?*
Oh, I’m sorry, I meant Tim!

All I need to do is see the headline to know that I totally empathize with his decision. Social media is great when interacting with a small circle of friends and followers, but if you start listening to what people say from all over it gets very toxic very fast…
Smart move, Tom. I just deleted Instagram a few weeks ago, and strangely, I feel better. I deactivated Facebook after a personal loss last year, and it actually helped me grieve instead of using social media to escape how I was really feeling. I may just delete FB altogether because I feel as though I no longer need it.
Alas, I won’t get to see what exactly you’re up to, but it’s for the best. Take it easy.
@Scratch King well, obviously someone cared enough to tap on the CNN link, play the video, tap on comments, and then post a personal message 🤣🤣🤣
To me, It feels like Every kind of Social Media platforms’s been too much far away from their origin purposes.
Full of Ad, useless photo worthy posts with vanity, And thus, Self-criticism, depression are made from them.

There are too many platforms to self-destruct. He’s taking a break for the sake of his real life.
I’ve been social media free for 2 years with the exception of YT and can say it’s the best decision I ever made in my life, not only did I give up social media though, if you’re going to do it, you need to literally go all in and trash the cell as well, I did it and the result has been an endless gift. Good Job Tom! Welcome to the Cool Club!!!
@MrAlpha How ‘alpha’ of you to point out the obvious…
@JR Porter You shoulda used ‘Truth Social’ as a joke, dammit…lol
@Sneaky Dudes Garage lol nice 👍
@Sneaky Dudes Garage just ask your mom. She’ll tell you. 😉

There is nothing about Tom Holland and his life that precludes him from experiencing the same self-esteem blows on social media that we all do.
Probably a couple million things.
@KING -Do you mean money?
Do you think being rich keeps self doubts away?
Fear of not being good enough is what drives many people to accumulate money.
@Renzo thats actually true. Although ive never even had the money to find out in the first place.

there are viral tweets about him being ugly or having ugly haircut with 200k likes. People constantly make fun of his height or lips. If someone told me that I was ugly or stupid etc it will hurt me a bit, but imagine when you see posts about you being ugly with 200k likes. 200k people thing you are ugly. Do you think money can protect your self-esteem and mental health? Do you know how many celebrities committed suicide because of hate comments, especially in South Korea?
Very wise ! Wish it for all of us !
I’m so little a part of pop culture and social media, that I hadn’t even ever heard of Tom Holland (to my memory anyhow).
I’m grateful to never have been on Twitter nor Instagram, and long ago left FB.
Here’s wishing us all PLENTY of device free time ! It is absolutely necessary for the health and well being of humanity and all of life !
I’m happy for him! I hope he doesn’t catch the backlash that Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka got for wanting to focus on their mental health. Strong mental health is paramount these days I wish this young man nothing but the best!
Well I have no problem with none of these social media sites but you have to do what makes you happy so much respect to Tom Holland for what he’s doing🤔
I love Tom. He’s one of my three favorite Spider-Man actors.
I stopped social media about 4 years ago, the best thing I have done for myself in a long time. “Social media” in my opinion has been one of the worst things to happen to mankind, and we have the power to stop it.
Glad he is doing this.
He could even hire someone to be in charge of his acts
So he can focus on his mental health & we can still get some superb movies
We used to have a saying “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans”, but now life is what happens while you’re wasting your days away on social media.
Good for him. As someone who has _no social media_ , I can attest to how generally calm and peaceful life is if you don’t feel the urge to look at your social media feed every few seconds. And you mind and attention is purely your own instead of being hijacked by an algorithm designed for the profit of a company instead of your mental benefit.
1 Chris Albert Fuk what you saying it here 😠 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AdydHAD9n8
Felicidades, es un buen ejemplo. 😠
5:25 Se deja ver que hay muy buenos resultados 😠😠
