Trump Admin. Pushes For Schools To Fully Reopen This Fall, But How? – Day That Was | MSNBC

The White House said it would issue its own safety guidelines for reopening schools after President Trump bashed those issued by the CDC as “very tough and expensive.” Trump threatened to cut funding for schools that didn’t open completely and with in-person classes. But the White House’s plan for keeping students and adult staff safe is unclear. Aired on 7/8/2020.

    1. Most European countries have managed the coronavirus outbreak better than the United States

    2. @neojason83
Virtually, every country has managed the coronavirus better that The United States.
The reason is simple. Every single country in Europe has a leadership with working brains, while USA has a president with the brain of a 3 year old.

    3. you mean like a 6 hour debate on stage with biden broadcasted live tv???
      biden4dementia 2020!
……Facts are Facts. Bernie says “biden will be the most forgetful president since FDR”.
Fox News plays these Dementia clips of biden 24/7 on all Fox channels. Facts are Facts.

    4. Australia here. We went into lockdown early, then school was canceled completely not long after when cases started spiraling. Our school year is February to December, so this affected our entire school year, plus Summer School at our State University. We only recently sent some kids back to school, grades 10-12 and only after our state had zero active cases of COVID-19. We continue to test widely, trace and isolate but we’ve been COVID free for about 60 days, plus our state border has remained closed since early in the pandemic. Melbourne and the state of Victoria has locked down its borders on all sides with a spike of approximately 2,000 recent positive cases. The Australian government would never do what Trump is doing. EVER.

    5. In the countries where schools have reopened in Europe, except Sweden, the spread of the virus has been controlled. That has not happened here in the US. We are seen huge spikes in many of the states that were pressured to ignore the CDC Guidelines and open early by the “Stable Genius” sitting in the Oval Office.

  1. This reminds me of the whole let’s open the country back up on “Easter Sunday” fiasko. This man does not care about the people and he’s proven that over and over again.

    1. We would have been lucky to have the Easter Bunny leading this pandemic , the great orange hoax continues to mumble and drool his way through pampers as he is laughed off stage after stage .. “I will be on episteins island with my daughter” – trump

    2. He’s giving people targets and things to aspire to. It’s about motivating people. It’s what great leaders do.

  2. They’re letting people out of jail early because of the coronavirus but yet they want us to send our precious children to school during a global pandemic…

    1. 7 9 20 Hey@Roy Rodgers, William is a player; it’s his job. I got a response from a person that wrote the game is to get responses. Will is on a LOT of sites; mainly political. Hope that may help. Stay safe, keep calm, & be well. v

    2. 7 9 20 Hey@D-BO 842, *My wife & I*; basic English comrade. Hope that helps. Stay safe, keep calm, & be well. v

    3. @goff0103 lmao. Most people have no issues. 80 percent asymptomatic. More fear campaining. Hilarious.

    4. @D-BO 842 u dont care about kids that would get sick and die lowlife bumb I’d rather b a left than the right u guys are despicable

  3. First let’s see if Trump sends his son Barron to a public school for a couple weeks and whether he gets sick or not.

    1. Baron would be attacked by ADHD Ritalin kids who’s minds are poisoned with their parents hate and propaganda.

  4. Schools are opening up across Europe because those countries have flattened their cronavirus.😷 curves. America has not flattened thier curve in fact in a lot of states across USA their curves are rising. Added to this is that the virus is now effecting young people. As parents you are responsible for your kids if you are concerned then don’t send them to school. That would be a powerful message to send trump.

    1. If you ask any misinformed Trump supporters, they will brag about Trump’s ban on Chinese from coming to the US. The fact that over 40,000 flew in from China after Trump’s porous ban was put in place is not known to them.

    2. His also killing americans for foreigners like him and putin, for putin, his a sick kkk criminal neo nazi traitor, yellow stench!!!

    3. 7 9 20 Hey@Martin Moyes, Thanks for the correction. I’m surprised you haven’t gotten hammered for pointing out incorrect grammar. Stay safe, keep calm, & be well. v

    1. @Walter White Facts are facts. Until Trump, our most dementia impaired president was Reagan, verifiied Alzheimer patient. No matter how many times Fox plays Biden’s few slip ups, no one in the history of the US presidency, even Bush 2, ever spewed forth as much incoherent babble as Trump. Without a teleprompter, he cannot complete 3 out of 4 sentences. Poor pathetic LOSER Trump.

    2. @ruth depew …..so according to your logic, trump is the one with dementia not biden?
wow. btw, did you take a lot of vaccines when ur a kid??

    3. @Walter White Ask if he is willing for his son to get infected and get sick. If the president is so willing to get all American children to get infected and get sick. Biden is not president. Trump is. He is willing to expose American children to Covid19 and he does not have a plan if they get sick. How will that affect the country’s future?

    4. @Walter White
You talking about Trump’s vaccine of Clorox ?
I’d stay away from that if I was you, or anyone else for that matter.

  5. Really funny that he’s mixing in Germany there. Here in Germany we did stop schools, close bars and shut down. We had as many cases as Italy at that point.

Now we’re at around 400 new cases a day. For 80 million people. And yes, we do open schools again, yes, we do open restaurants. But we wouldn’t do that if he had more cases..

    1. Man oh man would I love to have stayed in the great countries of Germany, Australia, and New Zealand during the pandemic. I’ve never been so ashamed to be an American right now, and I hope our allies don’t think of us as terrible people….we’ve been dealing with this since 2017 and we want this to be over

    2. John Swo… we Kiwis are proud of the way the government (all of the government) have worked with the healthcare officials to address this.
It hasn’t been all smooth sailing but we are back to a degree of normality noting that the tourism and temporary worker (fruit, wine…) sectors are badly hit. There is a big push to “see your own country”, “help local businesses”… which is moving ahead.
      Kia kaha

    3. Daniel Schlobach… we do feel for decent Americans who have to suffer not only the pandemic but the total abdication of management and responsibility by this WH. Unfortunately Bunkerboy has been responsible for displaying parts of the US systems and psyche that were best kept hidden and addressed quietly.
Pay-to-play politics, governmental and judicial corruption, racism, lack of gun control, lack of national healthcare, the Electoral College, Constitutional abuse… etc etc.
Hopefully, November will start to address the initial issue but we feel it will be decades before the US’s reputation can recover. Perhaps it’s in the hands of the younger generation now.
Sorry but that’s just the way many of us see it.
      Stay safe.

    4. R Wags Wise words, but in a democracy they shouldn’t be addressed quietly. The people need to know. Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

    5. R Wags We in Australia are so impressed and now there’s a push to go for eradication here after seeing what a success our Kiwi cousins have made of it. We were close, but only aiming for suppression. Now an outbreak in Melbourne is showing how suppression means rolling outbreaks and rolling regional shutdowns. Kiwis did the hard yards first – and now you’re free.

    1. @John Swo That has never happened. Completely made up. The photograph that was taken of a migrant child, in what appeared to be a cage, later turned out to a) not be a cage; and b) to have been photographed when Obama was President. Separating undocumented adults accompanying a child across the border, from the child, until it is confirmed the child is not being trafficked, is common international procedure, and was introduced on the recommendation of the UN Commissioner in order to tackle child exploitation. You support abandoning that protection do you?

    2. @Margaret Nicol There is nothing wrong with this. If children of a US citizen were interviewed by law enforcement, and information of use became apparent, it would be passed on. Similarly, teachers, guidance councillors, therapists, will also pass on to authorities a certain range of information. People who are arguing against the US policy here, want migrants to have more rights than a US citizen would enjoy in a comparable scenario. That’s just not a reasonable expectation.

  6. Trump cant force kids back to School, just like Trump couldn’t legally open up each state.

    1. @D-BO 842 And what do you mean “If trump has mental decline then biden had a lobotomy”?
“350 health professionals sign letter to Congress claiming Trump’s mental health is deteriorating dangerously”, thats 350 health professionals!
Show me health professionals, again professional’s who have said the same sort of thing about Biden.
      https://www.businessinsider.com.au/psychiatrists-submit-warning-trumps-mental-health-deteriorating-2019-12?r=US&IR=T
Besides the fact the trump’s father died of dementia, which runs in the family!

    2. @Athena Grace it can very well infect them, and yes the rate of recovery is high, with kids, but the chances they bring it back to there families is extremely high.

    3. Yes, Article 10 of the Constitution states that Governors hold that power… Not a President. Even by Exuative Order… Trump is in complicit with a Quid Pro Quo!

    4. @Margaret Nicol If Trump tries to remove funding it is considered A Quid Pro Quo! This time if he does he will be impeached for sure!

  7. Donald Trump is a metaphor for the lack of empathy and greed that has been trifling within America…

    2. @Dave Schultz what a brilliant insightful comment. Thanks for sharing your superior intellect.

    3. Trump is emblematic of the criminal element that has plagued the US since the silly prohibition era of the so-called roaring twenties. Criminal family’s like the Trump’s are leeches on our society, economy, and culture. Justice is waiting for the Trump team and the newly appointed AG Adam Schiff will be just the guy to see it happens.

  8. Trump doesnt care about anyone than himself, doesnt follow experts and doctors advices and makes covid-19 worse.
I cant believe he is still the president of USA, its mind-blowing!

    1. @Walter White LOL, ‘Here, look at this FOXNEWS clip’. Hahahaha. Even as a crazy old man, Biden is a better option than Archie Bunker. He is losing so far that he is grasping at straws.

    2. @Walter White LOL, keep hoping that it doesn’t look bad for him. The whole world can see it slipping through his fingers this time. Stop looking at Fox moron. It’s rotting your brain cells.

    3. @Walter White LOL, even your stupid FOX NEWS knows he is losing. They are throwing him under the bus too.

  9. The best way to handle Trump is to laugh and point at him, rather than meet with him to discuss anything.

    1. 7 9 20 Hey@Altair IV, Disagree; it was a porter house steak & NOT a pork chop-FACT. lol, hang in there. Billy needs a hug. Dang, we all could use a hug. Stay safe, keep calm, & be well. v

    2. @Virginia Tyree yeah; i keep thinking that he is a black lgbtq member w just so much self-hatred, so sometimes i try to coax him out. not sure if he appreciates it, lol

    3. 7 9 20 Hey again@angela harper, Who really knows. YouTube, similar to other social media, can be so toxic that it’s discouraging @ times. v

    1. The pandemic in Germany was bad but they really shut down and took control of the spread. Here in the US we didn’t really shut down and never got control of the spread but attempted to reopen anyway. In every state that Trump coerced into opening early, the pandemic is raging.

    2. Germany does not have the US virus problem that we all can say now will not be going away in 2 months. There are older in not perfect health teacher, they will have to be in a small room with 20 kids every day.

    3. @Dependable Transcribing kinda funny they don’t bring up Israel and (some providence’s of) China, both had to close schools again after outbreaks. Israel opened up with social distancing, relaxed a bit a few weeks later then 2 cases turned into 100+.

  10. I live in Denmark. Schools are open, because we have almost no new Covid-cases. We were one of the first countries to implement a lockdown.

    1. True, but you’re also a tiny little country with a small population. And before you take offence – I really like your country and the people are fantastic. Your Country’s national soccer team, were also left out of a past European Championship, but eventually got included as wild cards. They were so offended, they went on and won the tournament, becoming European Champions! Now, that’s class.

    2. @Flabby Bum If you include Greenland, we are not that tiny 😛 We are a small population though. It doesn’t change the fact, that we didn’t open schools until we had a very low amout of new daily covid-cases. America is not in that situation right now.

    1. none sold yet buck. ur stupid.

      tinyuel.com/v7picr3 👈😆

    2. The ‘poorly educated’ are the Trump sycophantic supporters, – with his fellow millionaires egging him on!

  11. *let’s ask the kids in high-school if they are willing to be risking going back to school if they reopen . . . especially the kids with one or both parents aged 50+ yrs old with a medical condition at home, that the kids can bring Coronavirus back home to*
