Trump Election Nightmare? Obama-Biden Coalition Reunites For Biden 2020 | MSNBC

Some early primary election results show Joe Biden rebuilding parts of Obama’s diverse coalition, as Biden uses his strong Super Tuesday performance to propel his campaign forward. South Carolina voters, and particularly black voters, revived VP Joe Biden’s campaign, propelling him to be the frontrunner after performing poorly in the election’s earlier contests. The New Yorker’s Jelani Cobb and Maya Wiley, former counsel to the New York City Mayor, join MSNBC’s Ari Melber to discuss black voters’ impact on the election. Wiley argues it is vital to note that “black people are turning out in record numbers.” Wiley addresses Senator Bernie Sanders' struggle with black voters, arguing “they don’t not like him,” but rather “they know who Biden is” and he “understands what they worry about,” adding “for black voters, counts for a lot.” (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 3/11/2020.

  1. Can someone explain the black voter in Mississippi? If they’re in the majority, how come they keep electing the repressive regressive white governors and representatives?

    1. @yourboy torres been saying that all along. DNC picked Biden long ago.he’s malleable.easily manipulated and dumb enough not to see the forest for the trees…

    2. They are a majority of Democratic voters, but their overall impact has been limited in the state by gerrymandering and voter suppression. Mississippi passed a voter ID law that requires everyone to have a certain ID. Only one problem, they got rid of the DMV and offices that could make these ID in majority African American counties in Mississippi requiring many poor blacks to travel 30-40 miles to the next county to get an ID. Since many in poverty don’t have transportation, they can’t get the required ID and vote.😳

    3. Suz Soap And not to mention, Reagan had Alzheimer’s dementia, and as you stated was a “great President.” Thanks you just proved Biden can be too.

  2. Why is it that young black voters like myself like Bernie and old black voters like Biden? It seems that older black voters don’t care about our future they don’t have to worry about student loans, healthcare,Wallstreet, our climate,it just feels to me that there being a bit selfish for things they want to hold on to.Whatever happen to paying it forward for the future, and if he doesn’t defeat Trump we all just witnessed the same ole politics disappoint us again and they wonder why we all should be for the radical left!!😡😡😡

    1. @Baitul Jameel No Sir..I do not believe Mr Biden is a Racist and yes I am fully aware of the Busing Mess and the Anita Hill fiasco.. However Mr Biden made the time to actually Educate himself to this issues facing folks of Color..His mistakes in the past should not be held against him today.. He was not my first choice for the Nomination.. but I trust that if he gets the Nomination and then the Presidency he will do his best to restore normalcy and some dignity to our Government and to start to undo the damage that Trump has created over these past four years.. President Obama placed his faith in Mr Biden..and I feel President Obama was a truly good President..one of our very best ever..

    2. @no ididnt get behind what policy? Don’t support neither the corporate republicans nor the corporate Democrats! Status quo is not enough for me anymore. I don’t trust nobody that is not progressive, I’m a Trauma medic for the Iraq war, who hasn’t had medical insurance since I got out 2005, my mother is on social security, and I can barely afford to live let alone help my daughter and mother. I work minimaly 50 hours a week. Biden and Obama we’re wall street corrupted. So you explain why I should back that.

    3. @KK W Thank you! I could not have said this any better. I wish this comment could be displayed prominently on every platform.

    4. Trump has historic black voting numbers, I wonder why? I predict 30-40%. I know that sounds crazy, but I hear more and more at work changing teams.

    1. Haha , have you seen interviews with Palin where the sub titles are showing nonsense and sometimes nothing? Biden will cause the sub titles to say things like wtf?/ lol

    2. I wonder if those sub-title computers can translate…”Uh”….”Gee”….”Whatever his name is”…”you SOB!”….”All that stuff”….etc, etc.

    1. @Sam195 so, you just had to let your stupidity run rampant didn’t you.who, haven’t butchered someone’s name you big dummy, and I didnt butchered your name now did I Dummy😃😄😅🤣

    2. If Biden picks a black woman for VP, I hope it’s Susan Rice. Compare her bio to Maya Wiley’s. (Actually, there’s no comparison.) I like Maya, but she’s where she belongs.

  3. I’m stunned I thought Biden was on the verge of quitting and now a week later it looks like he will be getting the nomination.

    1. Biden Forgets What Year It Is During Disastrous Town Hall -~ [the 9.28 video by Papi Chulomin]

  4. the candidate to restore the power of the same, but nothing to change in the background, only the rich winning.

    1. We are letting them. We are Stupid. We can’t even see the d/c b/n SANDERS and Biden. Am afraid it is going to be b/n Trump and Hillary again.

    2. thats what government is. it is a way to distribute cash. i dont see how sanders proposed to change anything. just add more money. the system doesnt change just because of one guy. sanders had no plan at all. all the same people would be in place. just more money into the same pockets.

  5. How important and inherently stupid! MLK said that the comfortable moderate afraid of change was more of a threat than the hateful klansman.

    1. Freedom Peeze Lord! No matter what happens son- we will be fine. We are the working class- we will survive and stay alive – but we gettin stronger everyday.

    2. Teresa Sanchez mi nombre parece ruso? Que ignorancia y arrogancia de aquellas personas que acusan a otros de ser diferente simplemente porque no están de acuerdo con lo que piensan.I pity you.

    3. Ignacio Nava I’m
Neither ignorant or arrogant and don’t see myself as indifferent to the struggles of others. I can read

    1. the 9.28 Youtube video ”Biden Forgets What Year It Is During Disastrous Town Hall,” by Papi Chulomin

    1. @NAHOM YARED we don’t need foreign interference for that.
we have to establishment Democrats, the corporate media and the DNC.
even the so-called superdelegates said they’re happy to let the party burn down to keep Sanders from becoming a candidate candidate.
I mean you do realize both Republicans and Democrats serve the donor class, right?

    2. Alicia Stucky I can’t see that happening, Trump can’t even debate. In fact.. he lost every debate to Hillary during the 2016 election and it wasn’t even close 🙅🏽‍♂️

    3. @Gray London whoa that is not because of a stutter he may have had. His train of thought is not on par with dozens of times he gaffes. We will see this Sunday, I don’t think there’s enough ritalin to sharpen that box of rocks.

  6. I’m so glad she said “they feel” because clearly not all Black people are fact-checking Biden as they should. Smh

    1. @Natasha Sheree There aren’t enough of us Natives for anyone to even bother lying to us during the campaign.

    2. Gary Johnson what do you mean? The new front runner claims he got arrested with Nelson Mandela in South Africa!

    3. Everything Gaming I understand voting against trump but we should careful we don’t put another trump-type in office right?

    4. @Natasha Sheree Native Americans. We don’t have numbers sufficient for politicians to bother with trying to manipulate us. Even in Oklahoma we are only 8% of the population.

  7. Democrats are making the same mistake as 2016. They are picking the
“safe” establishment candidate with lots of baggage. How did that go for
you last time? Democrats learned nothing from 2016 and when Biden loses
to Trump they’ll blame Bernie again, learning nothing!!! The democrats
will lose a because they don’t stand for anything or with anyone other
    then bankers and CEO’s

    1. Oh you mean Biden is unelectable because of banks vs Trump who whores himself out to banks? Wow you are so smart! 🙄

    2. @infinati – I don’t get why Black voters are so nuts about Biden. Blacks are on average the most underinsured (or uninsured) ethnic group and Biden is opposed to free health care for all. He wants health insurance to remain in the hand of private companies. He hasn’t expressed any wish for free treatment for corona virus patients, whereas Sanders has been arguing for that since day one

    3. Democrats would have won 2016 election, if they had vote. But no
It wasn’t candidate’s fault that democrats lose. They lose itself. And also democrats lose at least 3-5 major very important states. This year trump will win. Democrats next chance is 2024.
      Unless some miracle happened.
      Unfortunately.

    4. We, The PEOPLE for POTUS also can NOT get too far ahead of ourselves here. I know the DEMONRATS ARE VERY STUPID, but they are also cunning when it comes to being corrupt CRIMINALS!!! They just don’t want Bernie making it, so they are plugging BIDEN for NOW!! We can EXPECT some sort of surprise coming up when all this EVENT HOAX of a VIRUS that the DEMONRATS started IN CHINA dies off!!! The chatter is KILLARY and MICHAEL OBUMMER on the same ticket coming to a “THEATER NEAR ALL OF US” very SOON…..

  8. MSDNC => MSNBC is owned by COMCAST => COMCAST giving positive coverage to Democratic National Committee main runner and throwing mud at any opposition, both in-party and outside => IN RETURN => if the DNC wins the white house, COMCAST will enjoy unobstructed growth in the next 4 years.

  9. Can ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY, around 5 minutes after I post, YouTube takes my comments down PAST OLD comments that are several days ago???
