Then he campaigned for nearly a month while calling the virus a democratic hoax until a personal visit from Tucker Carlson. So Trump as well as others deserves part of the blame. He is the president and responsible for effecting a strategy to deal with the problem. And the dismantling of the pandemic response team negated the chance of proactive intervention. Either way it goes Trump bears part of the responsibility. Just like when Obama did what he could to manage the country and work through the intangibles of a recession and was still criticized as having the slowest recovery Trump shouldn’t be immune from criticism it goes with the territory. If they can criticize Obama and claim he bears responsibility because it happened under his watch then Trump is under the same scrutiny.
