Ukraine has ‘successfully’ used UK-provided Storm Shadow missiles against Russia

CNN's Sam Kiley discusses the frequency of air attacks by Russia against Ukraine. Then Jim Sciutto speaks to British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, who says Ukraine has “successfully” used the Storm Shadow missiles provided by the United Kingdom. The Storm Shadow missiles, the longest-range weapon in Ukraine’s arsenal, were just recently given to Kyiv ahead of an anticipated counteroffensive against the Russian military. #CNN #News

  1. Shouldn’t the Russians run out of these missiles soon? I mean, 30 missiles a day can’t be easy to replace with a GDP less than Italy and virtually no access to foreign electronics.

    1. @E , if they really had 15,000 or more do you really think they’d only be sending 30 at a time? At the beginning of the war (sorry, special military operation) they were sending over 100 at a time! So your comment is laughable comrade!!

    2. Obviously the do have access to Western electronics, these missles are brand new, with Western compnents including US ones.

    1. Look up Russia knocking down storm missiles in Syria with the s-300 alone😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉

    2. @Kyle Kyle look up its a 40 yr old patriot knocking down the new invincible kinzhal! lolololololololol

    1. I think they will wait to see what unfolds and if Ukraine abides by the rules
i would expect to see them arrive in short order.

  2. As a Brit, Ben Wallace as Secretary of State for Defence makes me proud. He’s been a commander in the Army, so he doesn’t take any bullshit, and he knows what he’s talking about. Most other government ministers make me angry.

    1. He’s my local MP in Preston. He doesn’t mess around….proper old school British military man.

    2. Russia has been knocking down storm missiles in Syria for a long time pal 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

    3. @Kyle Kyle Funny that they can knock down a low observable Storm Shadow, but can’t stop a drone crashing into the Kremlin.

  3. On an episode of the Big Bang Theory they made a joke about Russian technology where one of them says to the other one “when was the last time you bought something because it was made in Russia?” The answer of course is never.

I think this war highlights the fact that Russia hasn’t got the technologically advanced capabilities found in the West.

In this day and age that is a considerable military weakness.

    1. You better find a new channel pud😂 that so called depot explosion did happen and the video is up on youtube. It happened 10 or 11 days ago.

    2. You do. Poland is even more aggressive than the US and UK regarding countering Moscow and safely delivering Western weapons to Kyiv.

    3. From what I’ve seen on the news here in England Poland is doing it’s part and doing it well with it’s support for it’s neighbour country and it’s people –
I hope there’s peace in the region soon and that Russia doesn’t dare think about invading any of it’s neighbours ever again!
      Dziękuję Polsce
      Slava Ukraine!

  4. Ben Wallace, Rishi Sunak et al. are fantastic in their support and forward leadership for Ukraine in its battle against the fascist tyrant Putin’s brutal invaders. Respect from Ireland. Glory to Ukraine! Слава Україні!

  5. Pretty sure any arms depot is only a small stockpile. They wouldn’t keep them all in just a couple places.

  6. As upset as I am with CNN right now, I still treasure people like Ms. Keilor and Mr Sciutto. He had excellent questions of Mr. Wallace, who didn’t dodge a single one (thank you, Sir!). This is solid journalism; get back to this, CNN.

  7. It was funny how quickly the Brit came down the anchor’s throat when he asked about Ukraine pushing into “Russian territory“. Rightly so of course.

    1. Just a minor point, even most English people wince when the UK is described as England. It is along the lines of describing the USA as ‘the people of California’.

    2. @Bambaclot …..and England is a nation within a group of nations called the United Kingdom, and they have all been in existence, in some form, for thousands of years

  8. „No plan survives first contact with the enemy“ is a quote from Hellmuth von Moltke.

  9. Never will I in my life time see Russia in a good light again, Ukraine we ❤❤❤you all

  10. ‘Wouldnt be allowed to report on it if it were’ is the most honest thing cnn has ever said…

  11. Thank you to to the UK for stepping up and helping our Ukrainian friends defend their sovereignty.
