  1. A yeah, it’s still a hoax to some,so let them have their so called liberty… i guess it’s give me liberty or give me death.

    1. @Li Li The death rate of this virus is around the death rate of the seasonal flu. Stupid people don’t take care of their bodies to have a strong immune system. My immune system is epic.

    2. @Marisa Dalla Valle The lowest point a society can reach is when the elect their leader for his wealth and not his ability.

  2. “hard” to privileged people is like a cake walk to those whom have had it hard legitimately their whole life.

    1. @Kshir Sagar – HA HA HA, yes, how will they ever live to tell about it later?!

    2. Youdontneedto Seemyidentification huh… so only right wing people were buying toilet paper? Wasn’t it everyone and their mother?

    3. @uh huh – NOPE! Prepper morons from cult 45. There is no need for panic buying. But fools that believe a crazy life long conman never will learn. They created a shortage by hoarding, and making a short term crisis that much worse. At least gas may be fairly cheap for a little while. I wish there was some place to go lol!

    4. The Pioneers would be ashamed and embarrassed at the inability of these panty waists to handle the least of hardships for the common good.

  3. The first known covid19 death in the US was on Feb 29th. It hasn’t even been two months since that time, and we’ve lost over 42,000 people. Now the country is starting to reopen with thousands still carrying the infection. That’s terrifying…

    1. Dam miyako that was explained so well. I feel those that keep comparing this to regular flu either missed too much school or didn’t go to a decent one. Our worst year of regular flu is 40k thats over a yr. Get it? This coronavirus has killed almost 50k in less than 2 months. Hey illiterate there are 3 versions of this virus out there. Ill call them abc. A was in Italy thats the moma. Shes had 2 kids since then. So she’s mutating fast. B version was in China and jumped to NYC . C version is coming from California. When winter gets here because of Trump and the illiterate we will be hit by a wave that i fear we won’t recover from.

    2. @K Man how can you honestly give an assessment like that…how is a human going to stop a virus, please explain…trump isnt in charge of state readiness, etc, these big blue states spend money on illegals, etc, no surprise they were caught off guard…you have nyc officials who told people it was okay to go outside…let me ask you something, who are the zombies in the city going to llisten to, Trump or their liberal politicians…the virus numbers are being manipulated, you and i both know that..can i ask why do they need to manipulate number?

  4. Donald McNeil: “We don’t have anything to stop the virus, except common sense”

Protestors: We ain’t got common sense!

    1. @aksting It’s too late for aggressive testing and contact tracing efforts because the virus is out of control and everywhere. Aggressive testing and contact tracing only work early on where there are a few cracks with leaks, but once the dam has burst, you’re really only left with mitigation strategies (e.g., lockdown) and the hope of a vaccine.

Millions of tests at this point are pointless. The virus is everywhere. You would need an effort 10x bigger than the national census to do the footwork of contact tracing at this point.

      S. Korea brought the pandemic under control within weeks without locking down any cities. They had tons of masks available, ventilators, ICU beds, and they were surveilling its citizens by cell phone GPS and credit card activity, and sent them a text message if the government saw they were moving around too much. They also had drive-by testing facilities to prevent infection of hospital staff. (See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOcNEfuJBT4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE-cA4UK07c).

We are past that narrow window where intensive testing and aggressive contact tracing can bring this pandemic under control. You can’t control something that is completely out of control. We are therefore left with only mitigation strategies (e.g. lockdown) at this point.

    2. @aksting except there are no asymptomatic carriers of this virus. By definition there is no such thing as an asymptomatic carrier of a novel virus rather everyone will be symptomatic to some degree because there is no immunity.

    3. Rick Avis Empty slogans won’t make the virus go away, Rick. Better to face reality and tackle it with science, not magical thinking.

    4. @A.C. Strand – Agree completely. Tests are kind of useless anyway because you can get infected 5 OR 10 minutes after the test told you that you were not.The ONLY test I am interested in is the one that will inform me whether I have developed the COVID anti-bodies and are thus immune, at least until that virus figures out how to mutate into a worse beastie, which it probably will do at some point in the next 2 or 3 yrs. if America is depending on common sense, we are basically screwed anyway. Like the old saying reminds us; common sense is very uncommon. i just hope these cult 45 morons stay in their backwards red states. I don’t want their germs here in CA & they don’t need more trouble in NY.

    1. I know somwhow they are equating their freedoms with an uncontrolled, virulent virus doctors do not yet fully comprehend.

    1. Irunwitha hatchet pffft-
I’ve never seen someone make a bigger fool of themselves than you. Well I have, but your still really funny~ thanks for making a laughing stock of yourself, I was beginning to get bored. Now then, here is a lesson taught for you, little snowflakes should know better.

    2. 2.0 Bluetooth running thru his head on both sides. I don’t even use WiFi, bad enough the HAARP frequencies. What am I talking about? What is that loud ringing in your ears? Trust me you can year it. Sounds like a Capacitor off a old TV from the 70’s and 80’s singing.

    3. @darkreaper0604 do you put your cell phone up against your head when you talk as well? I hear that’s a great way to make fired eggs. This is your brain on frequencies.

    1. @Brem Hey fool. what does me being isolated have to do with your grandfather? Full a pool with this virus, I can swim in it. It won’t affect me.

Someone is sickly or with a weak immune system, so unless I stay isolated I don’t care about people.

Hey fool, where does the money come from to care for the elderly and sick? It comes from WORKING PEOPLE!!!!!!

    2. @K Man Do you mean the 40,000 that died last year from seasonal flu? Should I tell it to the millions who die every year?

Death is part of life. Cowering in fear from a virus is insanity.

    3. @fjvideo You are immune to pneumonia? You should sell your natural antibodies. They would literally be worth billions.

    4. Also its about 750,000 dead worldwide from just common flu. Per yr. The coronavirus is 10 times more lethal.

  5. I live in Florida. The beaches are open again. I won’t be going there, or anywhere nonessential, until next year. But then again, I’m not a Republican 🤷‍♀️🍿

    1. NO you can tell you r a democrat, listen to your masters orders, be babysat/regulated, unable to make decisions for yourself!

    2. Good! That’s one less person I’ll have to deal with while I’m enjoying a nice day outside, away from people, getting fresh air and sunlight! 🙂

    1. @jla7blue: I hope you get the chance to go volunteer in your local hospital.

The irony is that the adults in the room are protecting all of us, even the petulant twits, who–if they are spared–will caterwaul that there never was a threat, evidence be damned (cf. Italy, NY).

    2. @jla7blue: By claiming that Congress should be in session, you’re suggesting this is a federal matter. How do you reconcile that with Trump’s statements that this is a state matter?

By suggesting more needs to be done at the federal level, you’re also suggesting Trump should be doing more. What law do you want Congress to pass? What do you want Congress to do that Trump can’t already do?

It seems the legislative tools for solutions already exist; President Trump just isn’t using them to full effect.

    3. @ncooty keep telling yourself that. I think if I get it I’ll go with the cure. You can go with “adult” Bill Gates’ plan. Forced vaccination and a microchip implanted in you so they know if you’ve been obedient. He’s just looking out for you because that’s what you need. I’ll go with the Constitution myself. The adults that penned it put today’s “adults” you speak of to shame.

    1. @Kathleen Austin no his supporters are switching parties left to right. You know, like the black Democrat lawmaker in Minnesota that had to beg to get chloraquine, and was healed completely. She thanked Trump and now the Democrat lawmakers want to destroy her career. Seems like another black Democrat lawmaker just came out and said he would do whatever he could to get Trump reelected. The moronavirus was in the whitehouse long before Obama got elected though. He just really helped in showing the people it was there in a big way.

    2. @Gulfside Fishing — Acknowledge that he was told during meeting in 2017 and 2018…and also he was told as far back as November 2019. GOVERN BY MORONS….

  6. What is this magical thinking that insists the virus is political? It’s a virus. You cannot wish it away, no matter how hard you try.

    1. @Nancy l ,
Hope … is what the gambler feels, as he strolls into the casino with a wad of cash.
Reality … is what a gambler feels as he shuffles out of the casino without it.
Thankyou for your kind words, regarding my recovery.
I’ll leave you with this time-tested wisdom:
As I layed in my bed, with my rattling breaths, and persistent coughing (the two combined were rather unsettling) I didn’t “hope” that I would survive. Nor did I hope that I wouldn’t die.
Rather, I prayed that I would get well, and I believed that I would. Shortly afterwards, I did.
When you “believe” in something that is possible, and it comes to fruition, your belief is more than simply justified; it is strengthened from that point forward.
The only people that cannot be blessed in this manner, are those who refuse to believe it.
Nancy, you are far stronger than this virus, if you will simply believe it.

    2. @marshalllhiepler
It appears I may have been misunderstood by using the word “hope”.
Or incorrect in choice of word. Regardless, Do not misunderstand me.
I do believe this will get better.
Whatever else that you think I am really saying is not accurate.
      Stay well and Thank You.

    3. @Nancy l ,
I just don’t want you to fear a thing at level #10, when you should fear it at a level #1 (at most). The news media is clearly intent upon promoting the former. I have fully experienced the latter.
My insistance, regarding this point, is directed entirely for your benefit.
      Best regards.

    4. @marshalllhiepler
First of all I’m not daft. Secondly I don’t have a panic level of high degree.
If you do and I hope not.
That would not be a good thing.
Best wishes for you as well!

  7. “You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing – after they have tried everything else.”
    – Winston Churchill

    1. @Jeremy Atkinson Just finished a great biography on him actually so my memory is pretty fresh. His hard line , never back down stance, overwhelming optimism (that many mocked the same way they do Trumps), and risk-taking all remind me of DJT! I will admit i favor Trump a tad bit more since he wasn’t a heavy drinker like Churchill. Two of my favorite leaders of all time though 🙂

    2. @B Avery We all depended on the World Health Organisation ( WHO) to follow through on their contract to inform us in a timely manner. Not only did the WHO held back for China on this outbreak, but also cwent against us for restricting travel from China to the USA when we did find out about the outbreak from them. https://youtu.be/rprNNMxhkwA

    3. @Brandon Butterfield you’re stupid for now doing your own research. We all depended on the World Health Organisation ( WHO) to follow through on their contract to inform us in a timely manner. Not only did the WHO held back for China on this outbreak, but also cwent against us for restricting travel from China to the USA when we did find out about the outbreak from them. https://youtu.be/rprNNMxhkwA
The States are first responders for testing but the Federal govt stepped in anyway and over 6.5M tests done already at no outvof pocket cost.

    1. marshalllhiepler ….Whitney Houston is not rock and roll. She has a great voice and charted many hit songs on the ‘Pop’ charts…popular music is not always ‘Rock’.

    2. @Joe Burns,
      Yes, I realize that.
I also realize that she had every gift a human could have, and died from an illegal drug overdose, much like Michael Jackson did. Of course Michael didn’t produce rock and roll per se either, but mainly pop music.
Interesting, that they were on top of the world one day, and six feet under it, the next.
Someone is going to say that it was the “pressure” of stardom that brought about their demise.
What sayth’ you, oh noteworthy wise one?

    3. @Joe Burns  ,
      Oh. O.k.,
Sooo … I guess what you are saying is:

“History shows again and again, how nature points up the folly of men.”

Why yes, yes indeed my dear Watson.
I believe I’m beginning to see the correlation.

    1. @Elizabeth Cook ,
      My point exactly.
      It is not relevant.
Just as the degrading statement: ” … the USA will never, ever, learn anything.” was less than relevant.
The point is, that we can’t use the name of a country to describe its wide variety of peoples, ideas, and viewpoints … any more than we could describe the air above that country, as being isolated to that country. The wind blows where it will, and is confined to no borders.

    2. We have a LONG history of NEVER planning ahead even when the truth is right in front of us ,,,one of these times America will not servive,, we will end up a 2nd rate broken country

    3. We have a long history of not planning ahead even when the evidence is right in front of us,,,it’s always a knee jerk response,, ,,one of these times we will end a 2nd rate has been country because we fail to plan

    4. @Bill Coyne ,
      Speak for yourself.
YOU have a long history of not planning ahead.
YOU will wind up 2nd rate, and broken some day.
      Smh.

  8. When the yahoo protesters get hospitalized, their families should sue Betsy Devos and their other sponsors.

    1. @Elaniago It’s not a fact, sorry, but it is a diverse group of people who want to save their civil rights, as well as their jobs. It’s also rich that a Dem(?) would have the chutzpah to lecture anybody about insults, especially when your comrades, in this very thread, use them. Of course, your ilk (especially Democratic propaganda news outlets) are full of double standards and hypocrisy, and don’t, for a second, think that normal Americans don’t notice it. Save your lectures for your own tribe, who have a near monopoly on political hatred.

    2. John Bold
Yeah, I’m not a dem, so again you are totally wrong with your ad hominem attacks. There is a cure for you derangement, education or mental help.

  9. Chilling ending: “We don’t have anything to stop it, except basically common sense.”
    WE’RE SCREWED!

    1. Yeap… And that is including both Dems and Repubs. The stupidity and lack of common sense is extremely high in America.

  10. I like that: “To get the attention of a Trumpster, you have to take a 2 by 4 to it.”
