Uvalde school board to consider firing school district police Chief Arredondo

The Uvalde school board has called a special meeting for Wednesday to consider firing school district Police Chief Pete Arredondo for his role in the flawed response to the shooting massacre that left 19 students and two teachers dead at Robb Elementary School in May. A special Texas House committee tasked with investigating the shooting determined that the embattled school district police chief failed to act quickly enough to shoot and kill the gunman. The report, released in July, also determined that Arredondo held the role of incident commander at the scene and was responsible for directing law enforcement officers. Parents and community members have been calling for Arredondo to be fired along with the other five district officers who responded to the shooting.

  1. As someone from Central Texas, I’d like my state to have a Governor who could stand up to the N.R.A. & gun lobbyists, but sadly Governor Greg Abbott can’t do that. Furthermore, I’d like to point out that our last 3 Governors were Greg Abbott, Rick Perry, & George W. Bush, whom have been the 3 Stooges of Republican state “leadership.” Here’s hoping that Beto O’Rourke wins the Governor’s race against Abbott in November. And this is very likely given how close the margin between the 2 of them is with Abbott’s approval rating continuing to fall after Uvalde.

  2. If Pete Arredondo did not appear at the School board meeting is in fear for his safety by unarmed grieving Families then this explains why he failed to take the appropriate heroic action that was due that aweful day. He should be dismissed from his position of protecting the School districts Students, Teachers, Staff members Administrators and School Board Members. This question must be asked. Do all of the School Board Members feel safe if Pete Arredondo should have to protect them in any life threatening situation. It’s your duty to find and hire the right qualified candidates for open school positions and to fire current unsuited or underperforming employees. Do not continue making that Uvalde School Board look incompetent, unprofessional and incapable of doing their job. It just maybe that unsuited, underperformance that may eventually get members of this school board dismissed themselves.

  3. The fact that a school district in a small town needs a “police chief” tells you all you need to know about the state of affairs in the US. No other country in the world would have, want or need such an officer. I lived in Texas for a few years and am just so relieved that I moved back to Canada. Wow.

    1. Abbott’s lack of leadership in Uvalde couldn’t be worst. Beto O’Rourke 💙🤠 wouldn’t stand for such disrespect of parents and family’s. Thank you for the FULL video.

    2. Thanks for.comment,.you don’t have to answer, but are the moves oil related? This Texan loves Canada! Does a relative in Ontario help getting in? I know you are.Canadian, thought you may know, though as Expats since COVID is rare I imagine💞🇺🇸🇨🇦
