No, that’s the problem with not looking before you open the door.
If cyclists just followed the rules of the road they’d be fine. Stay in the middle of the lane and that wouldn’t happen.

The cyclists should maintain a distance from parked cars to avoid this but ofcourse the driver also should have checked before opening the door. Both at fault Imo. The cyclists were also riding parallel to each other instead of in which gave them less room in the lane to maintain a distance from the parked vehicles.

This happened to a buddy a few years ago, he opened his door into another vehicles path and it was his fault. The driver has the responsibility to look before opening the door.
How inconsiderate these 2 bikers are riding parallel side by side. Wonder if they would shift over into single file when the cars finally catch up to them?
They got preemptive karma by the door.
They can ride side by side. And they can take the lane when on intersection on round about . It’s a regular traffic like your vehicle/wheelchair/scooter/witch broomcraft

That said they are entitled to the ENTIRE lane. When a car approaches, a car is supposed to change lanes completely. Not partially, but 100%, just as if they were another car.

I don’t blame the Tesla owner. He probably didn’t see the cyclists because there was another car that blocked his view. Also, those cyclists were going pretty fast too. This is what happens when you bike on a busy street that has no dedicated bike lane.
Really git the cyclists were going 20 so if a cement truck was doing 60 he’d be ok to open his door? It has nothing to do with speed. Check out canadian law you are negligent and a fault if any action of yours failed to consider a potential or literal harm to another individual.

That seem to be really mean. But the situation is comical but it’s dangerous. Why does the car drivers and passengers feel they don’t need to be cautious of other people’s well-being? This makes no sense.
