Voting rights fails in Senate along with filibuster changes | USA TODAY

Senate Democrats come up short on a last-ditch effort to change the filibuster rules in order to advance on voting rights.

RELATED:

The vote earlier Wednesday night to end debate on the bill was shot down, 51-49, with every Republican voting against moving the bill to the Senate floor for a final vote. Democrats needed 60 votes overcome a legislative procedure known as the filibuster.

  1. Voting rights for LEGAL citizens to vote ONCE was never an issue…this was about illegals voting and people voting more than once.

    1. @Jairo Herrera Biden literally said in his speech yesterday that Republicans are going to cheat to win in the midterms, change votes, all with no evidence. So tell me, when you guys cried election fraud in 2016 with no evidence, was that the same as 2020 with Republicans? Because I’ve watched close to a hundred hours of testimony showing fraud and very disturbing behavior from those who count the vote. So either our voting system is secure or it is ripe with fraud, which is it?

    2. @Frank Castle aka The Punisher Now ur switching topics to a irrelevant one. We were talking about the illegal ballots which some MEGA individuals got caught voting twice. It was all over the news. How dare you assume that I am a democratic when that isn’t my politicial identity. Btw, yelling that migration causes illegal ballets is so rooted in your racism (racial prejudice). Every govt agency states that the amount of cases is insufficient. Go real at the BrennanCenter webaite which describes your paranoia as being a myth/fallacy since YT doesn’t let me share links. Every researcher out there has debuked Trump claims of fraud since he is the type to divide the american society and go far as staged a coup in order to consolidate his power, in which he complimented Xi Jinping upon being a president 4 life.

    3. @Jairo Herrera you’re a funny guy, too bad nothing in your paragraph was true or coherent. I bet you rant about nothing important and no one listens, so you come here for attention.

Go read a crediable org website which describes your paranoia as being a myth/fallacy since YT doesn’t let me share links. 5. @Frank Castle aka The Punisher Idc if u claim you can’t comprehend my paragraph. That’s ur loss for not taking an english courses or understanding acronyms. You debunk your argument if u want to call that since u did went thru my replied and bothered to comment here. Jokes on you and I had done plenty or research on this. Again voter fraud is very insifigant on top of the news reporting MEGA supporters voting twice and getting caught.

  2. We need to get rid of the political party system. Belonging to parties forces elected officials to vote based on what some party wants instead of the individual representatives making their own decisions, because they depend on party funding.

  3. It’s a great day for America when politicians can come together in a by partisan way to defeat items like voting rights and send them

  4. You have to have an ID to do literally everything else in this country. You need to have one to vote too. And removing the filibuster would turn this country into a socialist party
