Murdaugh is charged with murder in connection with the 2021 fatal shootings of 52-year-old Maggie Murdaugh and 22-year-old Paul Murdaugh. He has pleaded not guilty. "I am going to testify," Murdaugh said in court Thursday, before another witness for the defense was called to the stand.

Defense attorney Jim Griffin asked Judge Clifton Newman Wednesday if Murdaugh would be able to use his Fifth Amendment rights against incriminating himself in the nearly 100 other allegations he faces including stealing from clients, money laundering, tax evasion and insurance fraud. Newman said prosecutors generally get wide latitude in cross examination.

  1. The only reason to suppress testimony on his financial malfeasance is to protect his assets in the civil and criminal cases.

  2. He is owning this attorney. I watched all day and AM has this attorney so frustrate. Lol! It was interesting! Also, on a legal said, AM knew just what he was doing and needed to do and say. Right now, I think he get one juror to not convict

  3. Hate it but he look pretty guilty, he can’t remember nothing for the prosecutor but memory point on for the defense. Appeal will be interesting. This is theatre

  4. 2:33:12 the cough. They knew he was bullshitting or was seeing what he would do. Notice he starts crying right after a few loud coughs happen.

  5. this man has charisma I want to like him but he’s done so many bad things it’s frustrating I believe he did it because there’s no one else that could have done it in that time frame he was at the scene in the video with those dogs in the kennel nobody else was there just him. ughhh

  6. Deny, deny, deny…but when caught in a lie they can no longer deny…blame it on the drugs. I was NOT at those kennels! I lied…it was the drugs. But then I went straight back home, took a nap, and then left to see my dear ole mama and daddy and didn’t even think to take my wife along even though I had summoned her here today for that very reason.

  7. If it wasn’t for the killing of Maggie and Paul I would sincerely feel sorry for this man, he messed up his life so bad.

    1. REALLY? Messed up HIS life? I’d venture to say he “messed up” many, many lives on an ongoing basis, for 10+ YEARS without pause or consideration of the impact on them. Only his own selfish welfare desires mattered to him, ever. To my eyes, the timeline proves he murdered his wife and child for the same reason.

  8. this MONSTER trying to down play his Big Ego in front of the jurors , the modesty is not working at least not with me LOL!

  9. He admitted it and apologized to the families not once has he said “I wanna find out who did this to my family” the jurors have to see this please wth this guy sucks!

  10. This whole family is disgusting. From the father who leeched onto innocent injured people and claim to help them win insurance money, and then keep it all…to killing their housekeeper..to protecting his son from horrible things he has done. And then there’s the other redhead freak of a son who is tied to potentially murdering a classmate because he was openly gay. The devil handmade this family himself. (totally not condoning the mother and son being killed)
