Anyone joining the military has to pass a background check, even for jobs that don’t involve handling of classified information on a regular basis. Part of why we do that is to ensure that no one is massively in debt, and thus more likely to be susceptible to bribes from foreign entities, etc. Trump would not have passed that background check, yet he commands our entire military.
Then there is Kushner. He was not allowed higher security level. But what happened to that? And how is he still allowed into top security meetings etc.?
