I want everyone to know that in Pittsburgh, one of the health care hubs of this country there is only 1 testing site. They can only test 20 people A day.
Even for healthcare employees who are showing symptoms, they need A medical excuse to not go to work, Yet they can only get tested if they have been in contact with Someone who has tested positive or if they themselves have been out of the country or to a highly infected area. This means that they are either having to continue working or risking losing their job by calling off. There are Virtually no tests happening here.
This does not Bode well for the rest of the country. There is community spread everywhere, if you’re trying to tell yourself there isn’t you’re wrong.
Donald Trump wanted to monetize the testing and treatment for this and that is why he turned down the WHO’s test. I know somebody personally who is in Ecuador right now in she was able to be tested. FUCKING ECUADOR. Yet a person that I know who works at a hospital here and is showing all of this symptoms cannot be tested. My health care employee friend has jump through every hoop she knows how in order to be tested and still has not been able to be. She has also not been quarantined yet. And has had to continue going to work because she can’t get a doctor’s note to stay home. People are going to die because of this president. I hope everybody reads this and understands that if this is the situation in Pittsburgh then a lot of people are going to die. Pittsburgh is all about health care and the health industry, that includes epidemiology and medical research. If this is the case here then it must be much worse in a lot of the country.
Corren love sounds pretty stupid. At a small community hospital in GA they are screening 1200 a day and testing anywhere from 10-100. The tests are based on need, not capacity at the testing sites.

@Det Nine you sound pretty stupid. In MD right now we can’t get tests. We have the symptoms, my roommate has been wheezing and coughing constantly for 3 days, and the best they can do as of yesterday is test us for strep.
The WHO never offered to sell test kits to the United States.
The CDC opted to develop its own coronavirus test and did not use the WHO’s protocol for the test.
Other developed countries with advanced research capabilities developed their own tests.

@Richard Darlington the economy is in serious trouble but it’s not Trump’s fault. If there’s a world wide pandemic supply chain slow down. People can’t go to work. And investors get scared that’s what’s going with economy. Which is also a reason why we shouldn’t rely on china for everything. one thing trump doing he’s trying to bring jobs back to the US from china so we don’t rely on him. He points out Arizona has zero cases that’s good but what happens when someone who thinks might have it gets tested ?
