Will President Trump participate in another debate next week? | States of America

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Thursday their decision to move the second Presidential Debate, between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, to a virtual town hall format due to Donald Trump's COVID-19 diagnosis and continuing convalescence. But moments after the press release went out, Donald Trump did an interview on Fox Business saying that he would not take part if the debate became a virtual event.

What did we learn from the Vice Presidential Debate? California Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence took the stage on Wednesday for a more substantive discussion on many issues, but there were still some interruptions in the process. USA TODAY's own Susan Page moderated the debate, and we hear a little bit from her about her attempts to crack down but keep the conversation focused on what voters are interested in.

  1. I will say he won’t participate. He would rather be at his own rally where he knows everyone in a crowd worships him and blindly believes everything he says rather than face a town hall debate where people will ask him tough questions he doesn’t want to answer.

  2. It’s best Trump doesn’t participate. Listening to him scream at debates is rather disconcerting. You never know when he’s lying anyway.

  3. He should base that rally on the fact that it is INSTEAD of the debate which Biden opted out of because he lost last time.
The president should say that this is that debate without biden who has defaulted it. And he should expose biden without any loopholes this time, also because many dems will be watching this time!

    1. @MrSpeedDemon72 yes, trump should get the facts straight before thinking of my strategy. I agree.
Most things are being done recently, only to hurt trump (also ad hominem). But if the opposite is true, then it should be very appreciated!

  4. It was stupid for the commission to announce changes to the debate set up without first consulting with the campaigns. Nobody wants a virtual debate.

    1. Loraldin P no, they did not consult with his campaign. The doctor said he won’t have the virus by the debate date. The commission could just postpone the debate a couple of days if they are so concerned.

    2. @Loraldin P Trump had COVID and survived. Now let’s test Biden and see how he fares.
Can you imagine the horror of suffering thru mild symptoms like Trump had to suffer?

  5. Trump needs to yell and scream and interrupt. If hes not there edits virtual that he has no way to interrupt.

  6. Kamala not only lies, also use her gender to be nasty, this is a odd form to be authoritarian. Beware of populism

  7. Biden got quite scared, little concerned, much worried, and fully terrified because of Trump’s wit, so He’s put forward this virtual debate.😆

  8. The debate rules should have never changed, Virtual is a joke, that was Not the agreement. Biden can debate himself

  9. While even having COVID, Trump’s been more active than Joe Biden.
When asked “Will you Pack the Supreme Court?”
Biden responds “I won’t say because it’ll end up as headlines”
That’s who you want as a Leader??

  10. no debate until he has 2 negative test. that will piss him off and he will do and say something very stupid.
