Many states are seeing dramatic temperature drops as winter weather and blizzards with bomb cyclone potential move across the country.

A strengthening pre-Christmas blizzard that experts say could become a bomb cyclone is set to bring heavy snow, strong wind gusts and plummeting temperatures to the Central and Northern Plains, Upper Midwest and Great Lakes this week.
The winter storm system brewing along an incoming Arctic front could create treacherous holiday travel conditions as federal forecasters expect the blizzard to slam much of the Midwest and Great Lakes late Wednesday through Christmas Eve.
Winter storm warnings, wind chill warnings and winter weather advisories were in effect across parts of the Midwest and Pacific Northwest – where up to 24 inches of additional snow was anticipated in Washington on Tuesday.

Over the heads of all I meet
Falls winter’s life giving snow.
Upon the rooftops and the streets
Filling the sky and earth below.
Dancing, swirling, skimming along,
Like the snows of yesteryears.
There’s lots of ice on the windows
As my lashes freeze over with tears.
It’s so cold; it’s too cold to snow
Yet the snow continues to fall.
The land is covered blanket white
As the winter winds wail their call.
There’s a red-hot fire awaiting me
That will thaw out my every part.
It’s not the glow of a fireplace
But the love that dwells in my heart.
