10-year-old victim’s dad says he feels anger over new images

New images are raising questions about whether police had the firepower to confront the Uvalde, Texas, school shooter long before they actually did. John Berman speaks with Jose Flores Sr. — his 10-year-old son, Jose Flores Jr., was among the 19 students and two teachers killed in the Robb Elementary School mass shooting. #CNN #News

  1. Trained professionals to just be standing there. Sad. They stood and LISTENED as children were executed. Freaking crazy!

    1. @Zachary Milliman why not a vigilante state? We are not talking about traffic tickets and and nasty words. A man walked in to a school and did all that. Who needs to justify that that person is bad and needs to be stopped? Don’t be stupid and make it sound like if every little thing is gonna be an issue like cops do all day long. Serious crimes. Life saving.

    2. @Chris No one said ban all guns, but banning weapons of war. Also, one has to be 25 in the US to rent a car, but 16 to get a license. Yet an 18 year old should be able to walk into a gun store, buy an AR15 or two and an insane amount of ammo and walk out the store and end lives?

    3. @wallawalla509 The shooting in question happened in Texas, a state with more guns than people. All the cops had guns. Guns didn’t prevent 19+ deaths, but caused them.

  2. Because they were cowards. Plain and simple. If your police protective equipment is ineffective against a certain kind of weapon then those weapon shouldn’t be available to civilians.

    1. @Slothy defund them for sure now. What are we paying them for?? To generate revenue for the state? Give us tickets???

    2. @Double_Joseph that specific department received millions of government funds for upgraded body armor and riot shields. A lot of good that did right?

  3. Hearing a father’s pain of not being able to see his son ever again is absolutely heart shattering

  4. My condolences to you and your family, sir. I can’t imagine how hard this all must be on everyone who knew and loved your son. 🙏🏼

  5. Cops: when you really need their help, they give you a bunch of petty excuses and give you none. When you need to be left alone and just want to go home, they harass the hell outta you on some pretty bs

    1. I would hate to be a uvalde police officer right now, having let down the whole nation, it’s hard to see how a P.D. could have any pride in itself

  6. My heart breaks for you! This was evil. This was no error. Bankrupt the town for police incompetence!!

    1. You can’t complain about the integrity of the police force and call to defund the police. They can’t help if they don’t have the tools to fix it.

    2. @B P they had the tools to fix it! It’s right in the screen shot of the schools security cameras! They had assault rifles, bullet proof vest and ballistic shields!!! Those are the tools they were given for situations like this, and they did nothing and allowed 19 beautiful kids and 2 teachers their lives and thousands of friends and families grief for the rest of their lives! All because they failed to do the job they signed up for and took a oath to serve and pertect the citizens of Uvalde TX! And again, they failed! So quit trying to justify or whatever it is you’re trying to do, for what happened. They were zip tying the parents up for trying to run into the school to save their own children because the cops stood around for a hour before they entered the room and killed the shooter. The whole thing is a horrible tragedy.

  7. This PD needs to be sued by all the families in class action lawsuit for mass murder. The Uvalde PD is just as much responsible for the murders of these children & their teachers as the shooter was, bc of their cowardice.

    1. And the tax payer will have to pay for the high powered legal team and the massive judgments and they all walk away with there pension and not a scratch on them

  8. Pain and suffering to the cowardly cops that didn’t help save the children. Peace and healing to the family of the victims 💯.

  9. You’re damn right Jose. Shameful, lying, cowards. Most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen.

    1. This is exactly why we should all be prepared and ready to fight anyone who harms kids. Police aside! We can’t wait on them. We need to be ready!

  10. This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever listened to, and it feels so important. Thank you, sir, for your immense courage.

    1. Thanks to the Supreme Court case DeShaney VS Winnebago County. No governmental entity(local, state, and federal police) has a duty to protect anyone. Another Supreme Court case Town of Castlerock VS Gonzalez makes police officers immune from prosecution for failing to protect any American. These two Supreme Court rulings effectively nullify the oath that police officers took, and provides protections for them. This is why the 2nd Amendment is so important.

  11. Their Police Department ABANDONED the kids. Their police arrived QUICK with PLENTY of WEAPONS and DID NOTHING. This Dad’s anger is righteous and he is right to call them COWARDS.

  12. Knowing my child could have potentially been saved after seeing this image is terrible. Not one police officer had the balls to make a call and do the right thing and try to save those kids lives.

    1. Honestly if i was a cop in the us i would be afraid too. Its the gunlaws thats wrong in the us.

    2. Those were not real cops. Real cops would have done whatever they needed to do. The guys in Uvalde are good ole boys riding a cake job in a small town where nothing happens. They do not deserve to wear the uniform. Ever.

  13. Man, hard interview to watch. I am so sorry these parents had to experience this pain and those children died fearing for their lives. ✊🏿

  14. My heat breaks for this father, considering yesterday was Father’s day. I just hope he and his family can get through this. I agree with him about a cover up.
