A 20-year-old woman pushing a stroller with her 3-month-old baby was shot in the head and killed on the streets of New York City Wednesday night, police said. The child was not harmed.
New York City Police Department commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a news conference that the mother was pushing the stroller when a man "fired a single shot into her head from a very close range" before fleeing. The woman, whose name was not released, was rushed to the hospital five blocks down the street. She was pronounced dead an hour after arrival.

The dude behind the speaker looks like he’s signalling to someone by gliding his finger over his face. He did it right after the speaker said “innocent… new yorkers”. Maybe he’s saying she wasn’t so innocent.

How does a city of over 9 million people who are not legally allowed to possess firearms in public in a state with the most restrictive gun laws in the country have a gun problem? Up until the recent SCOTUS decision takes effect, the only legal option available to NYC residents is to dial 9-1-1.
The fact is that when you dial 9-1-1 help is on the way, but they won’t arrive fast enough to save you. The victim might be alive today if she was allowed to legally arm herself. National Problem? Brazil abandoned its restrictive gun control regime and saw significant reduction in violent crime over a three year time span. Nice try.
