  1. Someone should ask Pompeo why they ‘negotiated’ with the Taliban and what the plan for our troops and all the support personnel was.

  2. Joe says – why can’t week keep thousands of troops in many countries around the world? Sounds like a sustainable empire….

    1. Because Joe isn’t always right, no matter how much he believes he is. Staying is the absolute worst thing to do because it means staying forever.

  3. This is all about multi-year, multi-billionaire contracts with the military industry. The rest is just collateral damage.

    1. Good one! Ask anyone who is in supply in a combat zone “You cannot do any audits of what is being spent while people are shooting at you!”

    2. @Big O Fan O 17 He didn’t. The point is people like Gen. McMaster support staying there for that reason.

  4. This General Colonel McMasters is the same guy who wouldn’t say anything when Trump was doing his thing

    1. & didn’t Trump pull troops out of Afghanistan, so we were gonna have to send more troops over there ..The Taliban started taking over when Trump promised them USA would be out by May ..2,500 troops would not have cut it Joe

    2. The reason behind this fiasco in Afghanistan is Biden and the Defense Dept. were too busy hunting down Americans that were in DC on Jan 6th rather than overseeing a safe and orderly withdrawal … The ignorance and incompetence of this administration is staggering.!

  5. Why didn’t you ask McMaster why their standing army folded in two days? Why is McMaster even on here? Joe and Jake Tapper should do a duet. Two people who didn’t serve.

  6. I’d love to know if the Afghan troops were perhaps being paid to laid down their arms by someone like Russia.

  7. HR McMaster is drawing false equivalence when he offers the two paths of staying and leaving. He says that the people should prefer the corrupt Afghani government to the Taliban. They were going without food because government officials stole it. They went without pay because their supervisors stole it. What kind of a choice is that really?

  8. US Army: Look, just ignore the fact we lied to you for 20 years about how progress was going in Afghanistan.

    1. Israel did it in two years. Only two years to build an army, of course with the help of the U.S…… Afghanistan had 20 years to build an army then they run at the opportunity to fight.

    2. The reason behind this fiasco in Afghanistan is Biden and the Defense Dept. were too busy hunting down Americans that were in DC on Jan 6th rather than overseeing a safe and orderly withdrawal … the incompetence of this administration is staggering.!!!!!!

  9. no, the first argument was ”Arms of Mass destruction”, the remaining was a cash cow for the war industry.

  10. Stop giving military contractors all of our money. This guy is a a military contractor and us upset that the gravy train is ending.

  11. McMaster, Sir.the Afghan soldiers sold out to the Taliban and had been doing so for sometime. How in the world can Afghan troops save anybody when they lay down their weapons and run from the Taliban

  12. Yes. Why can’t we keep troops in Afghanistan forever, the news reporting on this situation sucks. GTFO of Afghanistan!!

  13. We went to Afghanistan to take out Bin Laden. Mission accomplished! We shouldn’t have been there after he was killed. Our mission was never to help them with their problems, only to train them enough to fend for themselves. And the Afghan Army backed down. We can’t be the world police.
