To protect and serve, wow tell me that charging a person is in their best interest. Just a money grab, could have easily made the driver aware. A fine example of cops generating revenue for the government. Don’t think a cop really has your best interest in mind.

It makes sense. A license plate should be visible so Authorities can see it clearly if need be.
If your going to drive a vehicle it’s your responsibility to know & follow the rules.
Then they could easily check the plate in front. Most vehicles have two of them.

Got a ticket in Nova Scotia years ago for having bikes blocking the plate.
Industry Canada should have thought about that before allowing the sale of these products then.. You could pursue this…
@Biking Like Becker It probably says somewhere in a Canadian version of the manual in very tiny print to move your plate.

@Jumbo Me Yeah, I know that, but the car’s license plate isn’t visible.
When you go to court, just ask them this question. “If I say my name, am I agreeing to enter into a contract with you?.” If the judge persists to get your name, just continue to say the same question. Your case will be dismissed. I tried it a couple times. The case will never get published because the powers that be are afraid this kind of leak would cause their phoney system to collapse like a house of cards.

Not being able to see license plate has been against the law for a long time. Nobody believes when told but always argue. And I’m a retired mechanic
If the plate in front was also blocked, then that would be reasonable? Seems like an excuse to hand out tickets.

@Jumbo Me Sounds like you’re defending the cops. They could pull them over and check the front plates. Or pass them if they’re on a street with multiple lanes. There’s always a way.

Plates are to be visible…..at ALL times. The racks should be removed when bikes are removed.
