I’m so happy for this family too, and for the 123,000 people that were also evacuated in 15 days, which was miraculous! Especially when the whole country fell to the Taliban in 10 days after the Afghani military evaporated into thin air!!!! It’s time to start counting our blessings and pray for our fallen heroes and their families for heavens sakes.

@President Notsure First, this is not a debate. My comment was about how puny our little inconvenience of wearing mask was comparing to the fact people have to leave their country because of terrorists. Second, I am not even American so your assumptions of me being a Democrat is wrong.
Finally, wearing a mask doesn’t affect your precious freedom at all. Wearing a mask doesn’t prevent you from breathing. It’s like a seatbelt it is here for protecting you from covid. It’s for protecting others too. Even if the risk never drop to 0 it’s still better than nothing. And I’m sorry you don’t understand but others health isn’t a matter of personal choice or responsibility. To be responsible of something you need to have at least some control over it. The truth is that you can’t control who the virus contaminate. You can’t control if you’re gonna have a car accident or not. That’s why all we can do for the safety of everyone is wearing a mask, seatbelt and other safety measures when necessary. I don’t think you’d pay the hospital bill of the person you infect.

Going through the days long dangerous wait with children at the airport. I’m glad the were able to get out. My heart hurts for the others who were not able to leave.
