Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, called out Amy Coney Barrett on using the term sexual “preference” instead of sexual orientation. Hirono said that it is an “offensive and outdated term.” Barrett apologized and said, “I certainly didn’t mean and would never mean to use a term that would cause any offense in the LGBTQ community.” Aired on 10/13/2020.
