    1. TRUE HERO IN EVERY RESPECT, HE GAVE HIS LIFE WITHOUT CONCERN FOR HIS OWN SAFETY. I PRAY IF I EVER CAME IN THE POSITION HE WAS IN, I COULD BE AS BRAVE AS HIM. GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY

  1. My poor neighbors. Our community is hurting today. I’m so disgusted. We cannot allow this to divide us more! We need to come together and not allow hate to divide us. We can’t allow politicians to use this tragedy as their pawn!

  2. my heartfelt sympathy to those who lost their lives and have been injured. Now whatever happen to the rhetoric of “a good guy with a gun”. The one thing stopping or slowing the progress of Americans right now is the filibuster. not sure i spelt that right but the point is that one aspect of american politics. it is so sad

  3. I do not agree with the mayor that this is unimaginable. This kind of criminal act happened far too often in
America, you need to acknowledge it, because it is the first step to start to take action against it.

    1. @Yabbo ! I don’t think you understand that a law abiding citizen being African Americans with a gun, will not get the same benefit of the doubt by law enforcement.

    2. @Yabbo ! With all guns we have and all the people that have defended them selves, it hasn’t solve the problem .

There was a good guy with a gun a x police officer and he is dead ?

I know you love you’re gun but there is nuance in all these situations, and African American who holds a gun legally takes a chance that some white people can’t comprehend.

Sounds like you’re talking about , you’re favorite Western, or action movie not reality.

If a young black man gets killed by two white men while he’s jogging, and they chase him down becuase they just think he is stealing, what do you think woulda of happend to him if THEY SAW HIM WITH A GUN, do you think he woulda of got the benefit of the doubt?

What if I was in the store as a black man and a guy who was as racist as the shooter saw me with a gun, do you think he would consider me a law abiding citizen, or would he just shoot me, becuase I’m black and thought I was going to rob the store?

Everyones America Is Not The Same.

    3. how is this guy a hero? he had the drop on the shooter and managed to save no one let alone himself

  4. Some here seem to believe security guards at businesses are rare. With the proliferation of easy to buy and carry guns, security is everywhere these days. Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

    1. Guns are not easy to buy. There are numerous groups that an honest person must jump through in order to purchase a firearm. New York State has probably some of the most draconian gun laws in the nation. Years ago my brother could purchase a WWI or WWII rifle through mail order from adds placed in Boys Life Magazine. Today background checks are required in most cases. Firearms must be purchased in person and often times licensed. We also have to understand that the supermarket was a gun free zone. People inside that store did not have the means to defend themselves.
I recall the words of the lead singer of the heavy metal rock band that was playing in Paris France when an ice of shooter shut up that venue. He said lives could have been saved if somebody in the crowd would’ve had a gun. Lives could’ve been saved if somebody in the crowd would’ve shot back at the ISIS warrior shooting the place up. Gun free zones are very dangerous places and I believe you are a much safer in a gun shop.

    2. @T. R. Campbell this was done by a person that was able to purchase a gun not by someone that was denied

  5. My condolences to the families and to the courageous officer that gave his life for his community

  6. Imagine the good that young man could’ve done if he had used all that focus and drive for something positive. If he had been taught and shown that hate is wrong and stupid.
Be careful how you speak around your children. The words you use, and how you use them. Children learn how to act by watching adults. If the adults they see are full of hate. This is what happens

    1. You’ve clearly never raised teenagers. Once a child is around 12 or 13, what their parents say or do matter much less than their peer group.

  7. My heart hurts for all of the people involved in this horrific act. I just can’t wrap my head around the amount hate crimes that is happening all to regularly anymore.

    1. @Kevin Preston I grew up in Detroit. I know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m just not going to waste my breath on an ignorant person. Keep on talking, but I’m done with you.

    2. @Shelli Hebert You make a claim that the U.S is a racist country. When asked to give an example, you refuse and I am the ignorant one? The only conclusion is that you have no idea what you are talking about or you have no examples beyond the usual talking points

  8. Rip to the souls that we’ve lost! Justice must be served and this murderer should rot in jail! Those people didn’t deserve to die that way – no one is.

    1. 🍎…EVEN IF…LIKE 3 OF THEM ACTUALLY DESERVED IT….. IT’S MESSED UP IT HAPPENED..🕵️

  9. “Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in the world, but has not solved one yet.
El odio ha causado muchos problemas en el mundo, pero aún no ha resuelto ninguno.”
― Maya Angelou (1928-2014, Planet Earth)

  10. Condolences to his family. The officer still served his community and put his life before others. RIP

  11. Same thing that happened at the El Paso, Tx. walmart. This is what happens when nut jobs are allowed to have weapons.
Deepest Condolences to ALL affected by these senseless murders.
