    1. Democrats used the “racist” filibuster 327 times in 2020. Republicans used it once!! Once again the Democrats are the real racists.

  1. Read this (google it) : Statement of Concern – The Threats to American Democracy and the Need for National Voting and Election Administration Standards

“We urge members of Congress to do whatever is necessary—including suspending the filibuster—in order to pass national voting and election administration standards that both guarantee the vote to all Americans equally, and prevent state legislatures from manipulating the rules in order to manufacture the result they want. Our democracy is fundamentally at stake. History will judge what we do at this moment.” (Emphasis mine)

We have 1 1/2 years to save our democracy. After that, the GQP rigs the midterms because they control state officials who won’t certify the results when a dem wins, takes control of Congress, impeaches and convicts/removes Biden and Harris etc. on any charge, puts 45* back into office (even if he’s in jail), and then purges all dems from office and institutes total fascist rule. OR the GQP waits until 2024 to refuse to certify the winner of the presidential election and puts the GQP candidate, whomever he or she may be, in office against the will of the people and then institutes total fascist rule.

Alarmist? You haven’t read history…or been paying attention in even just the last few weeks to what even those hesitant to “go there” these past 5 years have been yelling at full volume to anyone listening. Get active. Get mobilized. Get going!

    1. Somebody here gets it. I completely agree, our democracy has never been more fragile than right now, and your first commenter proves it indelibly. VOTE VOTE VOTE BLUE IN 2022. The Dems are not perfect by any means, but they still believe in the democratic process.

  2. It’s hilarious seeing Jim Jordan nominated to be in an investigative committee. Considering he’s famous for being give evidence of students being abused and choosing to hide that evidence to protect his friends who were doing the abuse.

Having him on the committee would literally be having him do the exact same thing.

  3. Good Gawd!
Can’t they do more than one thing at a time?
    There is enough of them!
Voting Rights. – You’re nothing without Voting Rights.

  4. Clyburn is another one who has shown true himself. The only thing I respect him for his activities as a civil right’s fighter. He totally came off of what I thought he learned from the leader he used to respect but never understood him and his values. he has showing a fool and a big disappointment as an individual.
I wonder what he knew and why he was fighting for the civil rights.

  5. 2017
Charles Schumer, began: “We are writing to urge you to support our efforts to preserve existing rules, practices, and traditions as they pertain to the right of members to engage in extended debate on legislation before the United States Senate.”

The senators continued: “We are united in our determination to preserve the ability of members to engage in extended debate when bills are sent to the floor.” The Senate plays a “unique role” in the legislative process, the senators said, and that role should continue unchanged. “Therefore, we are asking you to join us in opposing any effort to curtail the existing rights and prerogatives of senators to engage in full, robust, and extended debate as we consider legislation before this body in the future,” the letter concluded.

Thirty-three Democrats signed the letter — Senators Chris Coons, Joe Manchin, Claire McCaskill, Patrick Leahy, Angus King, Mark Warner, Michael Bennet, Amy Klobuchar, Bob Casey, Martin Heinrich, Jeanne Shaheen, Sherrod Brown, Dianne Feinstein, Kirsten Gillibrand, Brian Schatz, Heidi Heitkamp, Cory Booker, Maria Cantwell, Mazie Hirono, Joe Donnelly, Jon Tester, Thomas Carper, Kamala Harris, Maggie Hassan, Bill Nelson, Tammy Duckworth, Tim Kaine, Jack Reed, Ed Markey, Debbie Stabenow, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Bob Menendez. Some are now gone, but most remain in the Senate today.

One of the filibuster supporters was then-Senator Kamala Harris, now Vice President of the United States.

  6. If we lose our democracy, the blame two people will be shouldering, it will be profoundly heavy for the rest of their lives and throughout history!

    1. “If” we lose our democracy.

I have a gun. If you don’t, think about why. Postscript : never take your gun outside without your ID and Carry Permit and a clear reason. Cops find a guy with a gun and no papers, jail. Minimum. Why doesn’t matter, just be glad if they don’t shoot you.

    2. I’m going to blame Biden too- I understand if you push mansion too much he could switch sides and WV won’t be sending a democrat to senate. However Biden needs to give full support and do everything in his power to remove filibuster

  7. very telling 2 dems are out of the circle, get used to it. Some people are educated, and willnot be fooled.

  8. Wow it’s like cleaning a spot out of the carpet while the house burns down. If they don’t fix on the voting ASAP say hello to a brutal autocratic dictatorship that makes Darth Vader look like a cuddly kitten.

  9. Clayburn doesn’t know what day it is!!! He gets fooled every time by the GOP.. slow very slow..
