Elon Musk publicly criticizes Twitter employee with a disability

Elon Musk has apologized after publicly scoffing at a Twitter employee’s uncertainty about whether he had been laid off in a recent round of cuts and speaking dismissively of the employee’s disability in a series of tweets.
“I would like to apologize to Halli for my misunderstanding of his situation. It was based on things I was told that were untrue or, in some cases, true, but not meaningful,” Musk tweeted.

  1. Elon doesn’t code, not be because he has muscular dystrophy like this guy, but because he’s smooth brained

    1. @D Hokanson They have to cope from the pain of knowing January 6 was…….NOTHING. 😂 😆 😂

    2. @Chris Albert whatever intelligence he may have is eradicated by his impulsiveness and belief that he is infallible. He exposed himself to a potential 100 million dollar loss + lawsuit, just so he could feel smug for a minute. Not to mention the effect this has on public relations.

    1. @WastelandWanderer If the guy is from another country that most likely has strong labor protection laws ( Seriously, U.S is an outlier in the developed world in both labor laws and healthcare, and even a significant number of developing countries crush the U.S on these things ) then Elon will likely lose.

    2. @CatD Linux

The man is a contracted employee because Twitter bought his company. What Elon didn’t know when he fired him is he has a massive severance package. That’s why the guy was trying to get an answer if he was terminated or not. The whole thing Elon did going on about his disability is just icing on the cake.

    3. @WastelandWanderer Thanks for clarifying. I only heard about it very recently. I hope there will be justice to the man.

  2. Imagine publically shaming someone who had lost their ability to walk and is actively also losing their ability to use their arms as well all because he wanted to know if he was fired or not.

    1. @G.P.B ok you are clearly so biased that will justify anything a conservative does no matter how petty and shitty but never give the benefit of the doubt to a leftist, I get it

    2. @Kai I would argue an employer has every right to fire an employee who is unable to or is unwilling to do their job. If the guy is so wealthy why doesn’t he just relax and accept unemployment or find something else to do.

    3. @I’m just some Canadian guy, and I say sounds like he wasn’t doing his job. People who don’t or can’t do their job usually end up unemployed. Life is hard. I heard the guy is financially independent so I’m sure he can find something more to his liking.

  3. So disgusting! just because someone is rich, it doesn’t give them the right to treat people like garbage

    1. Nailed it. It amazes me he has anyone look up to him like he’s some sort of social justice, free speech warrior..
It’s obvious he bought Twitter to make a safe place for himself & his fragile ego

    2. I’m thinking the person in the bow tie was fired because they look too much like Elon Musk. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!

    3. He always makes me think of Regina George’s mom in Mean Girls ‘I’m not like the other billionaires, I’m a cool billionaire’ 🤣

  4. The only good that came out of this is that it continues to confirm and show us that he has no compassion and sympathy.

  5. I’m sorry for this guy but it’s funny. This guy is going to sue the pants off Elon and Twitter. He’s going to win.

    1. @The News In ASL This is how badly Elon fucked up: Elon issued a public apology, which completely out of character for him.

  6. So, what can the ‘common folk’ do? If we don’t like the Elon Musk treats his employees then maybe we need to stop using Twitter. I think I am just about to that point right now. Social media in general, in my limited opinion, is a failed social experiment. On balance I don’t think social media has made us healthier, happier, or wiser.

    1. I talked to Lauren boebert about
stuff she isn’t doing in our state I got reported and next thing you know I got reported

  7. Elon Musk I used to have no idea about the man, just a name ,now he has shown that human excrement does not leave the bodies of some ,but builds up to burst out across the world
for some, there is no end to a never ending downward spiral

    1. @G.P.B The disabled person has a $100m severance written into his contract, because that’s how valuable his work is. Elon fucked up so badly that he issued a public apology, which is completely out of character for him.

    1. @Blazeww4207 maybe when you start up a company that twitter buys off you, then you can cry about the employee being lazy

    2. @Juice Ten it’s literally in his tweet, clown. I even said at the time he should’ve just claimed speech to tweet but he didn’t.

  8. Elon Musk is the winning argument for why we need wage and labor laws and why we need even better enforcement.

  9. The employee took his payout in wages (vs a lump sum of hundreds of millions of dollars) so that he’d be in a higher tax bracket, in order to better support the government in their efforts to make Iceland more wheelchair accessible. He’s a goddamn model citizen.

    1. What? That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard lol. Why do you think his taxes would go to installing wheelchair ramps? That’s not how taxes work 😂

    2. I’m thinking the person in the bow tie was fired because they look too much like Elon Musk. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!

  10. He didn’t just critique,he mocked,he belittle.Such Dispicable behavior from a so called adult.

  11. Today I heard that doctors that gave up decades of their lives that didnt have kids working 90 hour weeks for years in impossible settings “weren’t about public health”. I see why a lot of doctors that did their part trying to help others are leaving in droves talking about other professions on kevinmd.

  12. Cant say I have a lot of respect for people that attacked doctors that lost their lives trying to make it better for patients and causing health care to crash for all..
