  1. Like many of you, I watched the events unfolding in eastern Europe overnight with deep concern for the people of Ukraine, as well as a growing anger at this affront to peace and order on the international stage. An unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation is a troubling development, the likes of which we have not seen in generations; we likely have not yet seen the worst hum

    1. @Suzanne D You sure about that? The French invaded Russia in 1812, Japanese invaded in 1905 during the Russo-Japanese War, Japanese occupied parts of Siberia during the Russian Civil War from 1918-1922.

  2. It’s so heart-breaking to see the plight of the Ukraine’s brave soldiers taking their last stand in Mariupol. These heroes are determined to fight till to their last drop of blood. Like the heroic people of Ukraine, the people of Burma are also taking their last stand to stamp out the military dictators from the land, once and for all. The National Unity Government (NUG) which is formed by the elected members of the parliament by the people in 2020 general election, which resides in the liberated areas, has declared to begin an “offensive war” from now on against the military regime, from the previous defensive positions. Loads of junta forces’ wives and children are now fleeing the city of Yangon, to the military stronghold city of Naypidaw in droves, in fear of attacks from the guerrilla forces. On 19 April 33 junta’s soldiers were killed and 42 wounded in a 15 days battle with the KNU. In other news, 5 police and 50 soldiers were killed by mines and attacks near Hteelin (ထီးလင်း) by the People’s Defence Forces – PDF (Democratic Voices of Burma DVB in Burmese 19 Apr 2022). For revenge, soldiers burned villages along the way. Students, who were protesting peacefully on the streets before, are now becoming PDFs and have trained systematically to fight back the military regime. At the beginning, they started with catapults and hunting rifles, but they now have some automatic weapons bought by donations from the people through black markets. They will not stop until they get the victory. They have trained well and are now gaining momentum (BBC in English 22 Apr 2022 “Myanmar – Young rebels fighting for democracy” & 01 Feb 2022 “The deadly battles that tipped Myanmar into civil war”). Fight on heroes of Ukraine till you defeat the Russian invaders! We will also fight on till we get our freedom and democracy! May the hero President Zelenskyy and the heroic people of Ukraine defeat the cruel Russian invaders!

    1. @JD If you spent some time in Ukraine or with Ukrainian people you would understand that this has nothing to do with the US. Sure the US is taking advantage of this situation as they always do, but the Ukrainians desire to fight for freedom is real. I suspect your view of the world is too cynical to see things for what they really are.

    2. @Suzanne D lol, I can see you have no understanding of the situation. You actually think that a significant percentage of the military and police are far right, as well the far right being a large problem around the world? That’s ridiculous.

    3. @Norwegianboy EE The US and NATO are the very reason of this conflict… The people don’t want a war. They are the victims of geopolitics

  3. “They sank while being towed home.”
    “What…?”
“Sorry, killed in apartment by dead man.”

    1. @Joe Trapp They where being towed home in a body of water. Its not like help was far away. Then the other one right after?

  4. But this will only hasten the need to remove Putin. Silencing the critics doesn’t remove the factors that made them vocal.

    1. @Cropper Copper its the same problem imo. the invasion is in support of the security system, so from that perspective it makes sense.

  5. Murdering the family sends a message to all the other potential dissidents. Just completely awful behavior from a gangster government.

  6. The FSB was taking care of Oligarchs which is a message to the rest of them and others also however if there is a lot of decent in Russia and elsewhere the FSB will have a lot of work and the resources of the FSB organization are not endless.

    1. @Mike Matter could you explain exactly how is that possible? do you think that Russia is afghanistan or iraQ, kid? LOL

    2. @Mike Matter just stop guy, the FSB has thousands of literal combat troops under its command as well, many of them Special Forces qualified, you gonna take them all on?

I have read a few Tom Clancy novels…..
      That is a scary thought.
My favorite was “The Hunt for Red October”.
It got me out a special Ed as a little girl, did a book report in the 3rd grade.
😅 I also finally learned what the “F-word” was.
Found it, sounded it out, looked up that “Odd 4 letter word” in the kids dictionary, the medium dictionary, and the huge 10lb English Dictionary.
Frustrated, I bellowed for my mom, said the word, pointed it out, and asked WTH was this word?!
Mom: 😳……..welp, there went her attempt to shelter me.
Still did the book report in the 3rd grade class, but told them to wait to read the book till they were about 15 years old because there were a few “F-words” in there.
      My Teacher: 🤦🏿‍♀️

So that novel is dear to my heart.

I also liked “The Bear and the Dragon”, when China invaded Russia for gold and oil deposits.
An elderly Russian, who was a simple herder in a remote area, who was a old WW2 Sniper, and would dip fresh wolf pelts into a river so they would become coated on gold was a reoccurring character.
The Russian military was BEGGING him to evacuate form the incoming Chinese. Offered to move his herds and possessions. Finally he agreed, on the condition he gets “one shot” at the enemy.
      The Russian military reluctantly agree.
After a few pages, the old man is hidden with a few younger soldiers, over looking the valley, a decent distance away, as the Chinese are coming up. The old man quietly explains he “does not shoot privates or low ranking officers. They are just the grunts and most don’t want to be there. He looks for the higher ranking officers, killed a few high ranking Germans in his day, it throws the grunts into disarray and can be decisive in battle”.
As the Chinese come, a 4 Star Chinese General decides to pop out of the armored tank he is in to get some fresh air and survey his troops.
The old Sniper gets REALLY excited seeing the 4 star general pop out. He whispers how he had gotten a few 1, maybe 2 start generals….but never someone THAT high ranking!
We are back at the Chinese General. He sits on the tank, surveying everything when a huge *Bang* is heard. Confused, the troops look around and see the General still sitting in the tank. But now he has a huge hole in the middle of his chest. Slowly the General just falls over dead ☠️.
Old Russian Sniper: 😉😏Ok, now I will evacuate with you all *Everyone gets the Hell out of there to hidden awaiting trucks*.

It’s been a few years, but I was bouncing all over the place hyped up.
It’s great writing if you can get me to do that!

  7. I really, really hope Mr. Browder has exceptionally good security folks around him. He has continuously provided the world with all the horrid details regarding Putin’s activities, making him a prime target. Talk about a tale of two men- one of them causing so much death and destruction, and the other risking his life to rid the world of such evil. Stay safe, Mr. Bowden. This world needs more people like yourself.

    1. It’s not a problem as we can just say its conspiracy theories and the trouble will all go away.

  8. The problem with assassination is that it reveals that the victim is valuable. Either the victim had a secret or to set an example, the question is who’s the target audience for the play? Find the audience and find the employers weakness.

    1. @Hamlet K Squid
surely you aren;t suggesting there are unscrupulous opportunists in the world who would take advantage of the situation that aren’t named putin or are friends of putin

surely this not the time to be using rational thought and applying common sense … omg thats just scandalous

appologisies if you didn’t hear the name “putin” and your brain didn’t stop thinking independently as it shopuld be …

  9. “The world is in more peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil than from those who actually commit it.” -Dr. Albert Einstein

  10. It seems that the oligarchs who support Putin are beginning to understand what the old adage “play stupid games, win stupid prizes” actually means.

    1. @SpaceyMonkey75 That’s what The Camorra Mafia indigenous to Italy does while the Cosa Nostra Mafia in the US would spare the family, this, according to Samy the Bull Gravano whose YouTube podcast is excellent on this topic.

  11. Anyone who has ever watched “BARRY” on HBO Max will know that, when Russians come after you, they come after your whole family.😒

  12. ‘Ukraine needs $7bn in aid a month’ Zelensky.
‘Russia has $600bn frozen currency held overseas’ The Guardian Newspaper
How about transferring the equivalent of $7bn a month of this frozen money to Ukraine, on a daily basis, until Putin withdraws, as one of the new sanctions?

    1. @EMMANUEL AKPAN That is theft …. and Putin steals land from neighboring nations? Punishing theives by legally confiscating the proceeds of their crimes is not theft.

  13. “He accidently cut off the heads of his family and himself while brutally combing his hair”…Russian News Headline…..probably?

    1. @John Muzic = Putin/Trump Troll. You keep saying the same exact words everywhere you reply. Bad troll.

  14. Just two or three days ago I read a comment saying “wouldn’t it be funny if coincidentally Gazprom oligarchs started to die in suspicious circumstances?”
And I’m not to much into Russian affairs so I have no idea why would Russia kill their oligarchs just because the war is not going as good as planned so I dismissed that comment but apparently people saw this coming and I’m sure that dude went to Spain because he also saw it coming but I really don’t understand the relationship
