Eyeing New Path To Beating Trump, Dems Study Biden’s Comeback | The Beat With Ari Melber | MSNBC

Joe Biden's comeback is not only upending the presidential primary, but revealing new insights into the limits of money in politics and Biden's potential strength. This exclusive MSNBC special report documents each campaign's spending per vote. It exposes some surprising results, ranging from Bloomberg's pricey failure to revealing the campaign with most "return" on investment, as Biden spent just $10 per vote, less than his chief remaining rival, Bernie Sanders. By contrast, billionaire Michael Bloomberg spent over $200 per vote, raising questions about a potential ceiling on the efficacy of self-funded candidates. (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 3/4/2020.

  1. That’s what happens when you get endorsements and people simply vote for who they are told to. That’s not less. He got a huge boost from those guys endorsing him after they spent a ton popularizing themselves

    1. People are not “told” to vote for anyone. Only the feeble minded respond that way. You know, like a cult mentality. Sounds like you are projecting.

    2. stopthecrazyguy exit polls in South Carolina show that 50% of the voters that voted Biden voted because of James Clyburn’s endorsement. And you can’t argue that North Carolina didn’t drastically affect Super Tuesday. Check you facts before you accuse someone of projecting

    3. @Roman Wernsing you’re trying to say black voters only vote for people because they are told to. Sorry but that’s a lie. Stop sleeping on black voters we don’t vote the same issues as others.

    4. Kay Luv not saying that’s true but the exit polls aren’t a lie. The dnc is using black voters and taking advantage of them. That’s all I’m saying don’t come for me

  2. Wow… To think how many Veterans or teachers schools and hospitals could have been helped with 400 millions??!!

    1. Susan….not near as much as all the BILLIONS spent on illegals. Or the 100s of millions on abortions .

  3. Biden’s Liabilities:
    1. Contra M4A 🤕
    2. Bankruptcy Bill 😡
    3. Voted for Iraq War 🤕
    4. Treatment of Anita Hill 😡
    5. Credit Card Industry Champion 😡
    6. Fought to Cut Social Security 🤕
    7. Burisma Senate Hearings 😵
    8. Praised Segregationist 😱
    9. Foggy Memory 😵
    10. Border Fence 😡
    11. Crime Bill 😡
    12. NAFTA 😡

    1. @santiagobenites Trump will demolish Joe Biden,… Jesus man ol’boy Joe has dementia health provocations. Joe already at stage 3. How can an person become the President and having struggling memory issues at stage level 3 of severe mental illness.? Please can somebody with any good common sense, explain to me how is this even possible?

    2. @AwesomeBlackDude Joe Biden has way more going for him than Trump..Trump doesnt know what country he is in it seems at times, and he isnt even curious enough to ask questions to learn about ANYTHING…Joe is constantly keeping up on the latest things that are or could be coming our way..He doesnt have dementia, he just chooses what priority to give each thing….Trump has one and only one priority and that would be himself. Joe has heart, a backbone and has lived a life that so far has included much love, tragedy and a career of service and is still going strong. He is strong on climate change, is a person willing and able to work with both sides of the isle to get things done….

    3. @Jeaniej Butler so you’re saying joe chooses to prioritize running for senate over running for the senate over the presidency? lol. trump has accomplished more in 3 years than biden has in his lifetime of service?

  4. $400 million for 24 delegates is bad. 🤔
But Steyer’s $240 million for zero delegates makes a per delegate calculation mathematically impossible. 😄

    1. Ro G .. One fact was Steyer did have “the billionaires that made their fortune in coal mining, but wants others riding bikes to work” vote in the bag and locked up..

    2. @Mike Laing Ha! That and the “i wear one dumb tie all time because i think it’s fun” make it quite the coalition.

    3. It’s been said that politics is a zero sum game.
It would seem Steyer was determined to prove it.
Well done, Tommy boy. Well done.

    4. I’m an Australian, IT would just never happen, IF our politicians WASTED that kind of money on elections, think what all those billions could be spent on for all Americans. From an outsider vote Bernie Sanders for a honest for the people PRESIDENT.

  5. I am Jo Biden and I am running for senate and this is my sister and she operates my record player.

  6. Ask Joe what he had for breakfast, he won’t remember. He’s not capable of doing four years. I personally think he’s actually a talking mummy.

    1. @King Jon Targaryen I
Socialism involves the nation as a whole, like the former Soviet Union.
Social programs target specific needs, like healthcare and education.
      Big difference.
Socialism is just a nicer way to say Communism, with a capital “C.”
Yeah, I’ll take a hard pass.

    2. @Richard Darlington No dummy we dont have a problem with that. The point is that YOU dont have a problem with socialism. When are you going to understand that you were programmed by McCarthy to not be able to understand the term socialism?

    3. @Richard Darlington There are varying degrees of socialism, just like there are varying degrees of democracy. Our nation is not 100% democratic or 100% capitalist. You’re a dunce boomer.

    4. @Richard Darlington No not at all, Socialism has it’s early roots in Anarchism too. Workers on the means of production. Communism was a stateless society it is not a state. For god sakes Karl Marx was a Liberal himself he just disagreed the liberal idea of seperating the political from economic which is a fact by the way.

    1. You are living in dreamland. The Senate and Presidency are gone, you better just hope to hold onto the House.

    2. Term limits on Congress too. All the most corrupt people there…Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Nadler et. al. have been there for far too long.

    3. Your a little upset it seems that President Trump has loaded the Supreme Court with Conservative Judges to stop the immoral left from making America a Sodom and Gammorah. If you have any idea what that means. I doubt it.

  7. Seems like the DNC has already determined the outcome of this race… just like they did in 2016……

    1. They can’t let Bernie win, because they can’t control him. Dementia Joe that can control as easily as a needy puppy. He won’t even understand what’s going on. They’re just prop him up in front of a camera now and then for one of his pre-rehearsed hollow pep talks.

    2. @doppler That’s Right! Another Troll there. They like to use cute little slogans to insult people, instead of keeping it civil and informative.

    1. @Lucius Paullus – Yeah? Hi might win 13 states. That’s his ceiling. The same polls said that Hillary would win in a landslide….remember???

  8. It is more important to know who got more VOTERS to pay for their campaign than how much money they spent.

  9. Biden’s the dude on “Pawn Stars” who bring a priceless relic in saying “I was hoping to get…”, telling them his lowest expectations, then selling for the first offer given. If he wins, we’re screwed.
