The Trump Republican party is intellectually and morally empty.
Why don’t Americans have affordable healthcare, education and housing like Europeans do ?
Because You don’t like to pay high taxes, in Germany as a single this is the highest tax class(as a married couple you pay less, means lower tax class), i pay 36 % of my wages for everything federal tax, income tax, catholic tax (only if you are a catholic) , healthcare and social and unemployment tax ( these three are the biggest parts ). But then healthcare is for free i had 17 major operations in my life i think in America i wouldn’t be alive anymore or I would have to pay back for 4 lifetimes ( means broke and homeless after a while). And it’s mandatory to have the general insurence even if you are unemployed (then its paid by the state, means from the taxes of all people). And yet still you can opt out for private insurence if your wages are higher than a certain amount of money. Your thinking has to change you cannot eat yourselves over and over at a certain point in the future there is no one left to eat anymore.
….. and also medication is nearly for free you pay only a small percentage of the price for example three, five or the highest is 10 € er completely free for generics (means copied medication where the patents ran out)
those ideas would get you branded a communist in America, and don’t forget the ability to vote easily, something I take for granted but am appreciating more by the day.
Oliver, most working class Americans pay about half their money in Taxes, sometimes more depending on state and local payroll tax, then we also have sales tax when buying goods and annual property tax for those that own real estate. There’s also specific item taxes on gasoline, cigarettes and alcohol, and inordinate fees for identification, like thirty dollars for a drivers license renewal.
@Carrie Ullrich we have all the above things also. I also paid 30 € for my drivers license, 10 € for adress renewal and so on so we also pay 50 % and more but very good health insurence, unemployment insurence and social insurence is already included. And even when you cannot work anymore due to helth or other issues you still get paid by social insurence it is not as much but aren’t hungry and you still have a place to live in. It is not perfect but it is something. There are a lot of poor people too and the difference between poor and rich drifts grows constantly from year to year but we are working on it
