Former Congressman Lends Voice To Effort To Protect Voting Rights | Morning Joe | MSNBC

  1. If Republicans were so sure their views were popular, why are they making it harder to vote?🤔

    1. @J A Keller Well guess what? All the Dems have to do is say, GREAT, lets make everyone show an ID to vote and we will issue everyone who needs an ID at no cost. But guess what? American Citizens, NOT illegals, almost everyone has an ID. They are numerous things everyday you need an ID for. Dems don’t want that.

    2. @Sheepless Knight Something like..oh I don’t know a Drivers Licenses. Except it says STATE ID instead. Bring in a Birth Certificate, proof of where you live, electric bill mortgage or rent agreement. BAM get an ID. If Dems were serious they would say, instead of Millions for Trans studies in some other country, anyone who does NOT have an ID, which is few, LEGAL CITIZENS that is, then issue a free ID. Not hard to do.

    3. @Wisconsin Man Who gives a F@(k about ID? That’s the easy part. RepubliCONS are making it harder to vote by reducing early voting days, eliminating souls to the polls for black voters, reducing places to vote (which leads to longer waiting times) and they want to make it a crime to give someone a drink or food while they’re waiting in the loooong lines, eliminate drop boxes, and they want reduce the classification of mail in ballots from first class which will extend the time the ballots are returned. So once again who gives a F@(k about IDs when they’re doing so many other things to make it harder to vote.

    4. @Wisconsin Man
You should take another look at all the ID laws even now currently in effect. They put the onus on the voter, not those demanding ID from them. Were your statement correct, such would not be the case, therefore your point is fallacious.

    5. @J A Keller Almost like Gun Laws huh? You know, the 20,000 on the books nationwide. Yet how many ID laws are there? Many polling places don’t even ask for ID’s. Seen video of just that situation in 2-3 locations in a city from someone with a spy cam. They were like My husband forgot his ID and is scared to vote. Poll worker, oh that;s fine, many people don’t have an ID, tell him to come in, he can vote.

    1. @Wisconsin Man
      Voting act 1965:
This act was signed into law on August 6, 1965, by President Lyndon Johnson. … It outlawed the discriminatory voting practices adopted in many southern states after the Civil War, including literacy tests as a prerequisite to voting.

      Voting act 2019:
The Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019 responds to current conditions in voting today by restoring the full protections of the original, bipartisan Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was last reauthorized by Congress in 2006, but gutted by the Supreme Court in 2013.

      Voting act 2021:
Washington(CNN)The Supreme Court is poised on Tuesday to hear a case that supporters of voting rights fear will lead the court’s new conservative majority to weaken a key provision of the Voting Rights Act that prohibits laws that result in racial discrimination.
The dispute comes in the aftermath of a contentious election which prompted former President Donald Trump to make unfounded claims of voter fraud and inspired his supporters to storm the US Capitol in an attempt to overturn the election.
Republican state legislators across the country are also moving at a fast clip to pass laws to restrict voting access. According to the Brennan Center for Justice, as of February 19, state lawmakers have carried over or introduced 253 bills with provisions that restrict voting access in 43 states

    2. @Louise Cardinal 1965 huh? Oh yeah, by LBJ who said, we’ll get them N’s voting Dem for 200 years. Where a DEM held a filibuster for 76 days to NOT allow it. Dems who from just after the Civil War up until then voted NO for any equal rights bill brought forth. Republicans are the reason those things were passed. He was known for equality. Dems only EVER look at what THEY can gain by something.

    3. @Wisconsin Man if you could read you would have seen the 2019 & 2021 voting act, scotus is trying to remove voting rights for minorities 🤡

    4. @Louise Cardinal How are they or did they do that huh? I am 100% sure that something may or may not have been taken out that 100% was taken out of context. Thats what Dems are good for. So instead of saying, THEY DID THIS, say WHAT they did.💩 Bag.

  2. The worst part is, facing financial liability with the Dominion suits, Powell is claiming ‘the Big Lie’ was political theater, LIES … no reasonable human should have believed any of it. This was a defense Fox lawyers talked a judge into buying re Tucker Carlson. That sets a precedent. And if Powell succeeds you can expect ALL who may be held liable to use it. This is their parachute for Jan. 6th. It also completely abandons ALL those who stormed the Capitol and labels them as stupid. Those under criminal indictments … yer on yer own. No cavalry is coming.

    1. ALL those who stormed the Capitol are stupid. Seriously, first off they believed Trump. Then we must consider exactly what their goal was in destroying the very democracy they claim to be defenders of.
Then if that is not enough many of them self incriminated by posting evidence against themselves on social media.
Not the handiwork of intelligent people to be sure.

    2. The difference between her and Tucker is that Tucker is an opinion show TV host. She was personal lawyer to the POTUS. Big difference. I do agree that if gets away scot-free it would set a precedent in malicious speech by people in power. At the very least, she should lose the bar license.

    3. @Razvan Zamfir Fox is named in her suit and if Dominion wins they are the guy with the wallet. So it is they who suggested this defense cuz they got a moron to buy it.

  3. Romney has already come out against HR1. Which Republicans does Gephardt think are open to protecting the vote?

  4. Rudy and all those pushing this lie should be disbarred and held accountable. Some sort of penalty needs to be used to stop this.

    1. @Jennifer Middleton Discredited by Dems in the public eye. Which is nothing. You see, there are these things called laws and due process. Oprah isn’t wonderful because people “on TV” say so. She’s a very normal person, with a calculated and manufactured public image.

    2. @john emeigh of course it’s a lie. Never believe the words of a person who lies all the time. It’s not logical. No reasonable person does that.

    3. Democrat Antifa anarchists and BLM Marxist allies firebombed, vandalized, and looted over two dozen cities, causing the murders of at least 30 people and injuries to over 700 policemen and women all for the purpose of demoralizing the American public before an election.

The BIG LIE is everything uttered by the Democrat propaganda media posing as “news”.

    4. @john emeigh we KNOW it’s a BIG LIE. Theres NO EVIDENCE of voter fraud that could change the outcome. What fraud was committed, was by republikkkans.

    5. @FijiLaural You’re onto something but you have the main protagonists backwards. The election was rigged by the Dem parties in several Dem states. They all passed unconstitutional laws (executive orders), without legislature approval, prior to the 2020 elections. Now, Dems are trying to take over states rights to handle their elections. It’s a socialist federal takeover of states rights. It’s a Leninist form of power grab.

    1. Obviously, you’ve never bought a gun. Yes, it should be just as hard to vote. ID is used for everything. You must be a citizen to vote — you must prove that, bampot.

  5. Hi, Mr. Gephardt . Good to see you!
    I voted for you.💖🇺🇸
    Same to you, Claire McCaskill.💖🇺🇸
    Patriotic Americans 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    1. how does the republicans suppress your vote.. lol.. the dems dont want to get off the couch and go get their ID to vote..

    2. @jeff mcgowan We’re going to make sure that you people are crushed and destroyed forever. Try to stop us. We WANT you to try.

  6. Don’t forget, trumps kids continue to spread big lie just like republicans in order to con people to financially support them and their lifestyle as their businesses fail.

    1. Are you afraid that people are forgetting your false narrative? I like when people use their own minds. Are you a Commissar for the neo-Marxist progressive Left?

  7. Has Gephardt, like Dixiecrat Manchin, failed to notice that the Republican Party is about 95% authoritarian fantasy dwellers who have completely abandoned any pretense of reason or decency.

  8. Now they are real Lincoln REP.2022, bring back the REAL Lincoln REP PARTY. Even the Dems want them back.

  9. Might be of help to someone; saving exonerates spending but stop saving all your money, money can also be a tool Venture into Investing some percentage, if you really want financial freedom..

    1. Good to see Mrs Kathleen Anne Grace recommended here, I use her services and it’s been a good source of income over the last few months, her strategies are very reliable and results oriented

    2. @Jüngen Günter
Really you know her?, I even thought I’m the only one she has helped walk through the fears and falls of forex trading

  10. I wish conservatives defended the right to vote with the same intensity as they do with the 2nd amendment
